Need In Game Tools for Reporting Cheaters

Halo Infinite already has a lot of tools that help identify and view in-game footage. This has helped me identify when people have been clearly cheating.

However, it’s inefficient to have to jump threw the typical MS hoops to report cheating. Especially given that I’m already viewing the footage, in-game, and should have a means to highlight/flag and send a direct report from the match footage itself.

If I can sit here and scrub through any players match history, it should clearly be an option to tag and send reports the same way.

And while we wait on this, lets do the obvious and give all players the option to disable cross-play. It would be the single biggest, and easiest step to reduce cheating (every clear cheater I have confirmed has been on PC, which shocked… nobody).

I’m sure they will use the money they made from selling nail polish to men to address these issues some time years later when nobody cares anymore.

While off topic, I would imagine most are having their significant others buying the polish. But yes, you can count me in the % of people that are looking forward to having that sweet sweet glitter purple armor. Not to mention, I think it’s cool that they are marketing some cosmetics directly to women. About damn time.

And in general, I have no issues with monetizing a product. Especially with cosmetics. So if people will buy it, more power to them.

Thanks 343i. Yeah, totally nothing wrong with selling single skins for $20 when an entire game used to cost $40…

Its a F2P game, where the monetization is 100% optional. So it isn’t realistic to compare it to flat out game cost.

If you don’t want to spend the $20, don’t do it. It’s literally that simple. You lose literally nothing for not buying the skin.

I mean, I have yet to spend a dime in any F2P game store… and I don’t feel like I missed out on anything.

If somebody thinks $20 is fair… and plenty do, more power to them for making a purchase that they want.

I look at it as any other “fun” purchase. If somebody wants to buy a $20 glitter bomb collar for their pet… more power to them. If they want to spend $20 to make their avatar look like Iron Man… good for them.

No it’s not. Campaign costs $60 and about 35% of the content is unlockable multiplayer content.

Bad for me. Bad for the future of gaming. Personally I enjoy the customization aspect of games more than the average gamer and I don’t appreciate being charged stupid money to get a semi decent look for my character… On top of that, the chances of me actually getting my favourite colours for my favourite armour within the next 10 years is extremely low. But yeah, it’s so great, I can totally see the good side to it… I’ll post it when I remember what it was I keep forgetting.

And the cosmetics from the campaign are 100% optional. Nothing in the game gives any edge. Not to mention it also has the entire campaign included. So if you think it’s a $60 value, that is your decision to make.

And while I get that you would like to have more customization out of the gate, at the exact same time, that lack of customization means getting a free game out of it.

I enjoy customization a lot too. And I agree that the current state is disappointing. But at the same time, its being dramatic to pretend that this is some high crime… especially for a FPS (where you don’t even see your character for the most part). And like I already said, I’m not losing anything by just waiting and seeing how things turn out… and still being able to enjoy every part of the MP experience without spending money on the shop.

Again no. It’s not free. If you are a “free” player you exist to be a pleb so that rich people can flaunt their overpriced cosmetics and have costmetics constantly marketted at you until you eventually spend money… I used to get a campaign and a multiplayer for $60. I’m a massive Halo fan and would have happily paid for a familiar multiplayer experience. “The game is Free” is not an argument. Think before you say it again.

What are you even going on about? I have yet to have anything “marketed” to me… let alone feel like a pleb because I didn’t buy the cat ears…

I mean honestly man, if you feel this way… paying for some mental health time, and being a bit more zen… would do you some good. This is all 1st world problems, that should have 0 impact on you… but its starting to sound like its actually effecting your mental health. None of this matters. None of this should matter.

I’m a “free” player, and play with people that are all over the board, and I “exist” to enjoy the entire game for free… have been doing that so far, and will continue doing that… And have yet to feel or see the game twist my arm to try and buy things. You literally have to go out of your way to check what is on the store… And all those people buying those cosmetics? I thank them because they are the ones paying to keep the game free for me.

Oh great one, if I don’t like Halo infinite, paying $20 for single skins, and watching them brand it with nail polish then I must be mentally ill. People who pay for the costmetics are fine though, that’s normal to value a game at thousands of $ to unlock all the content. Men purchasing nail polish that’s healthy, real good for the environment.

Not at all what I said. And this attitude is what I’m talking about…

You are taking this incredibly personally… The fact that you are even thinking in such terms is what I’m talking about.

Nobody cares if you do or don’t buy cosmetics. But the way you are expressing how you feel like you are constantly being marketed too (and rich people flaunting their money…), and feel like a pleb because you aren’t spending money… yes, that is concerning. Sounds like this could be literal issues with addiction.

Just don’t buy the cosmetics. It’s literally that simple. If you feel so hooked by them, stop visiting the store page… stop letting yourself fall into it if you feel so compelled to spend money. Honestly if its that bad, it might do some good to just stop playing.

I’m a gamer. Get yourself off these forums if it’s not healthy to be here.

Gaming is a huge part of my life. Games that are worth 100 hours+ are very very rare and Halo used to be one of them. Halo was always a franchise that had integrity, it could hold it’s head up for not following the crowd. Now it’s a clone of a sterotypical F2P modern shooter that looks like Halo selling skins with a nail polish promotion. I feel personally attacked. People who know I love Halo are making a joke out of me today.

It’s kind of funny and ironic that you make such a big deal about wanting to customize and play dress up with your digital Barbie, but suddenly a nail polish promotion is taking things too far :joy:

If you’re ego is so badly bruised, go play something else. Clearly this game isn’t for you anymore.

Did you never have Action Man as a kid? Aint nothing wrong with playing with dolls, sorry yours came with a hair comb and a pink purse instead of parachutes and scuba gear…

Buying the cosmetics isn’t the issue. It’s the fact they have placed them into the store to begin with.

They knew players cared about armor customization and tried to cash in on it. See where I’m going with this?

There’s nothing inherently wrong with wanting money; you just need to be fair about it.

So far, they haven’t been fair about it. Why in the world are they selling armor from past games, at twice the markup? They wanted $20 for reach armor. That’s something to be mad about.

People are getting cheated and you’re getting mad at them? For wanting a fair trade?

not at all, I’m not mad at anybody. This is 100% valid criticism.

I completely agree that the items are over-priced. And hope that they add more free customization.

But the difference is tone and attitude. HBDonut is taking this personally, and is clearly being effected by it. Which isn’t healthy.

It’s one thing to be upset that armor you think should be free is being monetized. And move on with your life. It’s completely different to start thinking you are a pleb, and rich people are flaunting their money, etc, etc. all because you are choosing not to pay. That clearly isn’t healthy. And has nothing to do with the game.

And I don’t disagree.

The difference is how you are letting this effect you. It obviously shouldn’t. I would love to see more free cosmetic items, more control over avatar color and emblem customization, etc. BUT, that isn’t how the game is currently, and I’m surely not going to let that effect my enjoyment of this product or any other. I’ve chosen not to support their store… end of story. No more effort or emotional outpour needs to go into it. The decision is literally that easy.

And if people are making a joke out of you today, you need to find better friends. No game is worth that kind of investment.

And there is nothing wrong with the nail polish promotion. In fact I think its a good thing, promotions for too long have typically only targeted “boy” products and consumption. I actually think its a healthy shift that they made a more “feminine” promotion.

And I feel you are giving Halo way too much credit. It has always been part of the marketing machine. After Halo CE launched, it’s been everywhere. Yet, I still see Halo Infinite being just as much of a leader as the past halo games. I mean right now I am enjoying Halo Infinite as much as Halo 2/3 (which are my personal favorites). And after forge and co-op enters the scene? This could very well be the best halo made to date.

Well I choose to voice my opinion while it’s relevant and you’re wasting your time replying to me if what you say is true because you seem invested in talking to me about it publicly. I’m not overly effected, just casually making some music today and posting on a Halo forum, you seem to think I’m on the edge of my seat ranting…

And I can take a joke, love it in fact. Just sayin’ Halo ain’t looking too cool right about now.

Being social isn’t a waste of time. Choosing to hang around people that you yourself claim to be “making a joke out of you” is. Like I said, spending time with those people, and giving them any amount of your time is a waste. Especially over something as silly as a meaningless piece of entertainment.

And like I’ve already pointed out, there is voicing criticism and concern, and then there is showcasing an obvious compromise of character because of choosing to be effected by it. And while you might be deflecting and believe that you aren’t “overly effected”, I fully disagree. Anybody that tells me that they have such unhealthy beliefs to think that people that don’t buy cosmetics are plebs, and that every person with cosmetics is just some rich person flaunting… Yea. That is clearly a massive negative and unhealthy attitude. I can only hope that you will eventually see how small and meaningless this whole thing is.

I’m Irish. We thrive on insulting eachother, it’s endearing to us.

Well some people with no savings are still gonna spend their monthly income on Halo cosmetics sure, that’s an even worse scenario…
