So can someone explain what makes someone
competitive compared to being casual(a very incorrect term if its what i think it is, a Social player would be more correct i would imagine)?
It seems almost every argument here devolves to everyone being called either competitive or casual.
Correct me if im wrong on this but
Competitive = Ranked playlist players?
Casual(social) = Social playlist players?
(i get this doesn’t apply to reach since there is no ranked which causes more confusion for me)
^^^If this is correct where does it leave me competitive by definition means i play to be the best, i play to win which i do aim to do BUT i prefer to play social playlists.
Now for the part that made it needed to be posted in the Halo 4 forum.
If my understanding of the difference between competitive and casual(social) is correct, Why is it so important that only one side gets there way?
Why can’t both sides get what they want when they play very different playlists? o.O
Competitive is someone who plays to win. You want to win badly every match that your in. You strive to be the best, teamwork is key and fundamental gun skill when where talking about Halo here. You just like playing the easiest of competitors, social people.

That is what i thought so why is it important that only one side gets their way with halo 4 :S.

Is that you as in me or you as in the social population? xD
i play in social because i play with friends and thats where they wana be xD

Social will be competitive. Competitive aspects have a different meaning to different people. Like to me I play Rank, MLG most of the time. So I would like to see pure gun skill, teamwork and map control that’s all just pure skill. In social you have a wide variety of different vehicles, way bigger maps and a bigger pool of weapons. So those things play a factor in skill(it’s really just a different type of skill). It’s all competitive in my eyes just different. Don’t try to listen to elitest attitudes just do what you see as competitive.

As in the social population as a whole. Heck I play with buddies too that only play Social and it doesn’t stop me from being competitive. I understand it as a different mindset. In Ranked I go in expecting I’m playing the best so I actually focus harder, try my best. In Social I go in just having fun not worrying to much about things. It’s all competitive. Just my opinion of course.
Competitive = People who complain about the game and think they really love halo because
they post their opinions on how they think the game will be better.
Casual = People who love the game no matter what and play the game happily. Maybe post some cool new ideas for Halo 4 but dont complain.
That’s what i have learned from being on the forums.
