I suck at the sniper rifle. I cant no-scope, is hard for me. Im just asking, because most of the team sniper maps are small and scoping is hard in small maps. Can somebody help me or give me some tips?
One tip: Play with friends! It’s easier to learn things when you’re surrounded by people who won’t scream at you for messing up!
Another: BE PATIENT! It’s harder to snipe when you’re super spazzy and your aim is all over the place!
Thanks man!
Try playing octagon with a friend. As long as your both strafing you’ll improve your noscoping in no time. Also don’t panic shoot take your time with your shots, remember one shot that hits is always better than four that miss.
Scope in only once on small maps like countdown, zealot, etc. Scope in twice if the reticule doesn’t turn red after scoping in once. Press Y to get out of aim, instead of scoping in twice, and don’t always aim for the head. 2 body shots are better than missing 4 headshots.
Download an Octagon variant off the file share/download search thing.
Starting weapons should be Snipers and DMR .
Practice with a friend and make sure both of you are moving.
Just keep playing until you have the timing down.
Protip: When you reload the empty clip, the reload animation is a bit longer as your Spartan will pull back the bolt before you can fire again. You can skip this by quickly switching to your DMR right after the new clip goes into the sniper rifle.
This allows you to quickly reload and lets you get back to sniping with the best of them.
Practice and you should have a solid Sniper but don’t expect to get it down the first few times. Don’t give up and have fun
As for the sick no scopes, this too will take practice but don’t actively to put you’re self in the position to do that because if you die you give the enemy your sniper. Only go for no scopes when someone is coming after you AND your confident you can land them. It’s risky for a reason, so i hope you know this OP.
To help with this, your opponent will try to strafe to avoid shots. Let him walk right into where your reticule and fire (don’t try to go crazy with your thumb stick unless you more comfortable getting no scopes that way). It’s a little weird at first but it helps with the no scopes IMO.
I’m not god with the sniper but I’ve been able to hold my own with it when the time comes. I’ve always seen the sniper more as a bear trap than a sword.
You can’t just go all offense with it, aiming for the head and attacking everyone you see. Its better to bait them, watch them carefully, predict their movements and pick them off one by one. It’s not about the head shots. A smart sniper knows when to let an enemy go, a foolish one goes for every opponent they come across.
Its always better to weaken your opponent with a body shot and leave them for a team mate then expect all your shots to be head shots. And always think of no scopes as a last minute resort. If you have even a single bullet in another gun use it. No scopes may be cool when done properly but I’d rather use something I can rest assure I know will protect me
For me, I recommend firefight. There’s a score attack playlist, and there’s a sniper mode. Do that, and the twitchy and zig zaggy covenents will help your reflexes and accuracy. It’s hard at first, but it gets a little easier as you get used to it.
I recommend only scoping once unless you are on a big map. As far as no-scoping, try watching your reticule instead of your opponent. When the reticule turns red, pull the trigger.
playing with friends is the best way and some ff as well.
