So most know by now that Gamestop is out of Limited Editions. I usually go to Gamestop for my midnight releases, but I was planning on getting the limited edition.
However, I’d also like for my brother to get a copy of Halo 4, as he is interested in playing it as well. So I was thinking that I should just go to the midnight release for a standard edition, and then give that copy to him and pre-order the Limited Edition from another site. This way I am guaranteed to at least own the LE while there are still supplies.
My only issue though is whether the place I would order it from would deliver it on the same day or the next day. If I expedite the shipping, I could be spending a lot more than I should…
Which also brings up another point - there’s a Wal-Mart within walking distance (literally in the same plaza) of my Gamestop. Should I just pre-order LE from there, go to the midnight release at Gamestop for my brother’s Standard copy, and then walk over and get the limited edition?
The midnight release is part of the experience to me, but I also want to secure a LE copy.
Sorry if this seems like a blog post. I’d just like opinions. Thanks!
In your position, I would probably go to the midnight release at GameStop for the SE then order the LE from like Amazon, they do release day delivery. Although, whichever store you pick up the game from either way really depends on convenience, quality of midnight event, and pre order bonus.
I’ll be around Wal-Mart tomorrow. I’m not sure if they’re doing a Midnight release this year though. I think they did one for Reach but not one for CEA.
I’m just trying to weigh my options, but the ultimate goal is to secure a LE copy either on release day or a day after from expedited shipping.
Wal-Mart would most likey have a midnight release for a major title like Halo.
If you wanted to order it from a website I might suggest Amazon, I haven’t ordered any games as for I get them from GameStop but if you are going to order from a website I would suggest that.
> I just pre ordered a limited edition at best buy, they have lots.
I would also pre-order from Best-Buy since you also get two bonus armor skins and a free limited addition poster of the MC. You can also get it shipped to your house or pick it up in-store on release day. On top of that you get extra points if you are a rewards card member.
EDIT: After looking into one of the posts above it appears that in your situation it would be best to buy from the Microsoft store because you’ll get $25 off of the standard edition if you buy the limited edition from them.

Sounds like a good deal. My best buy is pretty far away though so I’d definitely have to do a delivery. My issue there is just whether it’s delivered on time or not.
Unfortunately, this is the first time I’ve ever pre-ordered any game from Best-Buy, so I have no idea whether it will arrive on release-day or a few days later.
Is the Walmart open 24 hours? If not you probably won’t be able to get your LE at midnight from Walmart. You’d have to get it next day. Walmart is really bad at video game stuff.
Both Amazon, Best Buy, have good delivery times, Amazon especially does they will deliver it when they say they will. I will do some checking and see if Gamestop U.S. is still shipping on release day and if they have some LE’s remaining. I also like the Gamestop skin but the one from Best Buy, and Microsoft Store are neat, you can easily pick and choose certain pieces to use from their armor sets and have a very unique Spartan.
It depends when ordering online, you might want to check if your delivery route is capable of 1 business day delivery, as where I live it is not, I can’t remember where I found that out, but I think you should ask your delivery or postal master that question. If allowed, amazon is the best way to go. I ordered three dvds from there on a friday and it said it was going to be sept 11 before I got them, but it arrived in the mail by sept 7th, so I say its a pretty good deal, especially sense I chose standard shipping, so 20 dollar 1 business day shipping might be worth it if you want it day on release or right after.
Just giving insight on how amazon works, but if its order is more then one thing, and its not from the same company, it might be later unless you choose wrap individually, and even more so, I’m not positive, they can gift wrap and send one item to a different address, so it’ll be in the mail for your brother and can be a secret to.
I was hesitant to order from amazon until walmart decided to pull the fruad visa stunt and try to get my snn number, so I went to amazon now. Best idea to because you can find old movies brand new for cheap prices.

The one across from my gamestop isn’t I don’t think, but there’s one on the other end of town that is.
There isn’t a gamestop nearby though…

If the Wal-Mart isn’t doing a midnight release, then I think picking up the Standard Edition at midnight and then having Amazon deliver LE the same day or next day would be best. Not like my brother will be able to play anyway since it’s a school day.
Should I just go ahead and pre-order from Amazon now? They don’t charge until it ships, so worse case scenario I can cancel before if I find an alternative.
