Need help w/ stopping Locust spams on 2v2

Played 2v2 and both opponents went Locust Spam. My teammate and I went air and antiV. We’d be able to fight off one, but the other would hit soon after at a different base. That’s basic strategy sure, but the Locusts take out bases so fast and take so long to surround/outmicro/beat (when spammed w/ reavers and engineers) that it felt like we never had a chance against two armies.

If they get around you, it just takes a few seconds with eradication to take out a full base. So, even if you get there and win the battle, you’re down a base and lost at least part of your army. AND, you’re lucky if you caught most of them because they kite so quickly.

I won’t get into Locust being OP. They may need to be nerfed, but whatev. I’m all about the challenge for right now. Just looking for strategies. I mean, would an early rush be the only counter? I prefer to catch them in the field and win that way, but it’s tough when they’re so fast are two of them hit from different areas.

Again, just looking for some tips!

That seems like the correct strat and that’s also what I did in a 1s match I played last night. I went vultures to his base and he didn’t stand much of a chance, also I happen to catch all his locust ball with that AOE ability of kinsano’s so that got them down a lot then I used all my other abilities on them and that did the trick to get rid of the locusts.

Yeah, honestly I’d say leader ability spam + air and anti-V units at same time to get the ball then just move to their base and hit their factories as soon as possible afterward.

Thanks, that’s what I sort of figured. Will just keep trying new things.

I play shipmaster a lot using teleport to put a pack of locast behind a base as they attack me. But i tend to turtle and use hit and run tactics to kill bases. So the best way would be use air and deference tactics to brunt the main attack. Go straight for there throat at there main base, cause with the two bases only one is trier three and producing units. But this is situational based on player skill. So for banished use banshees, hunters, shrouds, and engineers. For unsc use cyclops, hornets, and nightinggales. Set up traps and ambushes casting wide net. People keep their army’s either in-front of there base or in it. So wait for the attack and counter attack as they come to you, so you can keep reinforcing the front line.
