Need help understanding Ricochet CSR

I’ve poked around online a bit, but I haven’t found any definitive answers. According to quick CSR, I’m currently a 29 in Ricochet. I usually play Ricochet with the same guys, and we tend to do fairly well. Last night we won 20 straight games of Ricochet, you can go look at my stats to confirm. This is honestly a regular night of Ricochet for us, however, none of us have even broken 30 on the CSR. What gives?

Honestly, it’s not the number that I’m concerned about. I play Halo for those difficult matches that come down to the wire. With our current rankings, we end up just stomping people over and over. Are we playing on the wrong night, and just getting the best of what’s available? We rarely have connection issues, so I imagine our pool of potential opponents is just as large as anyone else’s.

I love love LOVE this gametype, and learn new throws and plays with every game, but it gets old when we literally get matched against someone who has a chance of beating us less than 10% of the time, when the ranking system claims we are just average.

I’d appreciate any input, and hope to see everyone in the bowl this weekend!

Edit: I was misunderstanding a part of the post game reports on waypoint and removed that section.

Ricochet is Team-CSR based.

This means you need to add up your team’s total CSR for Ricochet to get a value.
You need to add up your enemy’s total CSR for Ricochet to get a value.

If your team’s CSR value is LOWER than the enemy’s and you win, then you rank up. If your team’s CSR value is HIGHER than the enemy’s and you win, then you stay the same.

However, if player’s quit, that player’s CSR isn’t calculated into that team’s overall CSR value, so it’s much harder, if not impossible, to rank up when the enemy has quitters on the other team. This includes guests because guests have no CSR value.

Also, ranking down from games you’ve won really only happens because they have quitters and the system sees that and anticipates you winning by a certain margin as well. If you don’t hit that margin, the system ranks you down because a team with less player’s did well against your bigger team.

That, actually makes it perfectly clear. Thank you.
