Need help: HW 2 disconnecting on blitz

Team,

I would like your help to understand what is happening, I’m getting disconnected in almost all blitz matches.

I love playing blitz, but in the last few days i’m getting disconnected almost all the time. Today I played 3 matches and got disconnected in 2 of them.

My Internet is BAU, and NAT is opened. I’m playing on Xbox X.

Is there any issue ongoing with HW2 blitz servers?

Hello, g4laxI,

Are you still experiencing connectivity issues in Halo Wars 2? Also, does there appear to be any indication of lagging before the disconnect, or does it happen seemingly at random?

Random. I’m able to play other games like Halo 5 Guardians with NO lag or disconnect issues .
It is happening only with Halo Wars 2.

On Monday I played a couple of blitz matches with a friend, but at 10pm ET we started getting “disconnected from hw2 servers” msgs and we were unable to join new blitz matches .

I really need help to fix this kind of stability issue.

Regards

Ah, okay. It sounds like one of three things could be happening: either the local servers are having issues at random times and dropping games, there is an incompatibility with the ISP, modem, or there is something else wrong with the Xbox or game. Since both you and your friend were encountering the disconnect message, it seems more likely that those servers were having a tough time, but it is hard to say for sure.

Do these disconnects occur when you first start playing the game, when you’ve been playing for a while, or both? Also, have you tried restarting your modem or possibly even reinstalling Halo Wars 2 (this solution is a long shot and more of a last resort if we can’t seem to get anything else to work)?

It usually starts when I have been playing for a while, after the second or third blitz match .
I have tried restarting my modem and it didn’t fix the issue.

How to know if it is a local server issue?

The easiest way to tell if it’s a local server issue is to see if someone not in your geographical region has the same problems. If they’re also disconnecting after a few matches, then it’s either a problem with the code (which we can’t really fix) or the installations are corrupted in some way. On the other hand, if it’s fine for the people in other regions, then it’s probably a localized server issue, which may be a problem on Microsoft’s end. Of course, it could also be an issue with a corrupted install, which could be fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling the title, but I’m not quite sure that’s the best option, yet. What region are you located in?

Ah, okay. I’m going to try playing some HW2 myself tonight to see if it will give me the same server issues. Since I’m located in a different region, this may give some insight as to what’s going on here.

Issue seems fixed. Getting temporary lags but game is working.
The problem is now with Halo MCC after the update to Xbox X :disappointed_relieved:

Glad to hear that Halo Wars 2 is working now. I do have some information on an upcoming server update that should allow you to find matches more quickly, though probably with some high latency issues. Here’s the post. I hope this helps you and everyone else across the world be able to experience Halo multiplayer once again!
