Need double xp or some type of event xp boost

I wasn’t able to grind out halo 5 like I wanted to for a couple years due to work and I see infinite is going to have a reward for max rank of halo 5 … I’m currently 54 and have a family and a job and not able to grind out that hard and don’t have enough time as I read online many others having this problem due to the insane amount of xp it would be cool to have a obtainable goal to reach before infinite. Not to take anything away from y’all who have been grinding for years I’m jealous of y’all ! But just let me know if y’all agree if not it’s cool too

Do you mean a halo 5 legacy reward in infinite other than 152, or just something to earn? You could try and grind for 100% completion of the game (achievements), or 100% completion of the cosmetics (will finish around 130-140 if you use the silver gold method) or to complete all of the commendations. There are a lot of things to do. You could also grind for champion rank in arena, or earn all of the medals available. However, I don’t think any of these things would warrant something like a legacy reward for completing them, just the satisfaction of knowing you accomplished it.

Yeah or atleast attract old players to come back like when I saw that max level of 152 in halo 5 will get you armor coating I downloaded halo 5 again right away ready to grind until I saw how hard it would be maybe I’m missing something but what I’ve read online is it seems pretty impossible to reach max level no like it’s too late would be cool to have an xp event or something to give players who came back a chance to obtain .

There will definitely be legacy rewards from other games as well, you don’t need to worry about that lol. Although I don’t think they have explicitly stated what the rewards/how to get them are (apart from h5 152), It’s pretty much guaranteed that things like the helioskrill and recon armor will be in the game. I just don’t think it would be fair to players with 152 to make the grind easier for others (I’m not 152 myself either)

There’s currently double XP in the Rock ‘n’ Rail playlist.

To be honest Halo 5 has more 2XP available now that it has ever before.

Mythic Firefight is now a permanent 2XP playlist.

There are weekly rotational 2XP featured playlists (have a gold star next to them).

Halo 5 has also been getting 2XP events more frequently - with that last one ending earlier this month.

Honestly it’s easier to level up now than it has been years ago. Like I always say to everyone, just play the game and you will level up.

There are so many different ways to get xp in Halo 5… you’ll never have to worry about getting xp. Doing permanent double xp is a slap in the face to everyone that’s come before us and didn’t have a problem attaining 152 in the 5 years that the game has been out. Now with that said, I don’t think 343 is ready to lose a significant portion of their fan base to a few “johnny come latelys” who want the cool toys they see their neighbor having. Halo 5 been my exclusive game since about september or october, but I picked it back up at the end of July and have already made it half way through 149… you can get to 152 without too much difficulty with what’s already available. You just have to put the work in… and with all the different playlists available, plus everything that rotates in… you won’t get burned out playing either. Just keep plugging away at… you’ll get there… it might not be before Infinite comes out… but that’s ok. Nowhere has it been stated that you need to be 152 before Infinite comes, nor have the game to 100% completion before release either… so don’t stress about double xp… or anything like that… just play matches, get that xp, finish those comms, get those achievements… you’re doing fine!!!

I totally understand that. I’ve been playing on and off since launch and I’m still a ways away. While it is attainable, it would be nice to have an easier way to convert req points into XP boosts. I personally would like them to just keep all the various rotational REQ packs up permanently. That way, players that need to finish the customization system can do so, but players who also have already done that and just want the XP boosts can also do that. Another thing is that Halo 5 double XP isn’t actually true double XP. It really only doubles one of the determining factors for XP after a match. A better system imo would be one which actually doubles one’s XP total after a match, and not just one portion of it. Also, more global double XP events or even triple XP events would be great. For me, certain playlists like Rock ‘n’ Rail are simply not enjoyable, while ODST slayer and Roaming King are, but as it stands, if I want the XP I’d have to play the featured arena mode or go back to Warzone. There’s also a massive discrepancy between Warzone and Arena XP, and after a while, I can get burnt out on Warzone, so it’d be nice if more of the standard arena modes (like Super Fiesta, BTB, etc.) could have double XP. Imo even a couple of these changes would make a big difference for those of us trying to get that 152.

There’s a lot to unpack here… so I’m going to try and break it up in the hopes that it’ll be easier to follow…

Someone did create an easier way to convert your reqs into RP that you can use to buy more packs. Someone created an extension for google chrome where you can sell your reqs in bulk and make it much easier to get RP much faster that you can spend on whatever Reqs you see fit. You should be able to find it fairly easily by just searching for it. Once you go through all of your reqs, turn around and buy whatever Reqs you see fit… I personally would go for gold packs as they’d have better boosts. If you have the RP grind finished, you’ll get more RP back, plus better boosts, and you can repeat the process as much as you want until you get your desired quantity of boosts. Aside from the legendary boost packs they had up during the holidays. Aside from those legendary boost packs, having the other rotational packs up permanently wouldn’t solve the issue like you want it too. Yes you’d get a couple good boosts, but like gold packs, you’d still get RP back plus other reqs. And I’ll get to the XP grind in a minute… Players still have the ability to finish the Req grind right now. All of the unlocks can either be found in bronze, silver or gold packs, you don’t NEED to purchase special packs to unlock everything, AND it’ll probably be faster to do it that way than to waste the extra RP on the special packs that you want left up permanently.

As far as double xp… I know what you mean about it doubling only a portion of your base xp… but here’s where that creates a problem. Say my base xp (no boost) for a match is 3.5k, you want to see that whole thing doubled, so now it’s 7k. Now let’s throw a boost on there, say a common or uncommon and you get another 3-4k on top of that. Well now you’re not getting double xp, you’re getting way more than that. The way they have the double xp set up actually works pretty well. And by an large, I do end up getting if double xp, pretty close to it.

And now for the fun part of this… permanent global double xp is a terrible idea, and only serves those who want a quick and easy path to something that was (by design) meant to be challenging. 343 won’t do anything crazy to alienate their hard core fans. People have been grinding xp in Halo 5 for over 5 years now, people that have just now discovered this game, or have gone back and forth on it do not deserve nor should they get a leg up on something that people who have been playing this game for years never got. Another poster in another forum said something to the effect of “they’ve never offered as much global double xp as they did last year”. Double not only cheapens the reward in Infinite, but it also cheapens the hard work, respect, and adoration that 3k players before us who’ve gotten to 152 already. 343 already rotate playlists every week Thursday to Monday, if you don’t like a particular game type, there are many others to choose from. Trust me, there’s very few playlists I actually enjoy, so I feel your pain there. But they rotate them every week and you just happen to be in luck, check the playlist, ODST swat and roaming kings is coming back up here in a week or two… so you’ll be all set. I started playing MP at the end of July, and at that point, there were only 2400 or so players who hit 152. As of a week or so ago, that number jumped to over 3100… and there was only two global double xp events… they don’t need to make it permanent. This is now the 6th or 7th post where people are calling for permanent global double xp (at a minimum, some are even calling for triple and even quadruple xp). If everyone calling for free handouts would spend that time playing the game, they’d end up with more xp in the long run. And as I’ve said in other posts, IF 343 did make that change, yes they would see a player surge in the short term with all the players still trying to get 152 and all their unlocks, but long term, those players will leave and the hard core players will feel slighted by 343 and will drop the game, dropping the population significantly, so it’s something else to think about.

I don’t mean to sound harsh or put anyone’s opinion down… just my opinion (which isn’t worth much)… just showing a different side to this (and one I happen to agree with). Hope to see you on the battlefield Spartan!!
