I hate to sound like I’m complaining because I do love this game, but we really need more options on the control schemes and button layouts. Not just for me either, I have seen multiple threads about this and many people not happy with it. I hope there is a remedy coming. The current control schemes and layouts are much, much too limiting.
I love using the bumper to jump, but the only control scheme that allows that also moves sprint to A, crouch to Left Thumb click, reload to B, and Armor Ability (AA) to X. Why move all those buttons around when all I wanted was jump on the bumper? Just swap A and left bumper, put AA on A button, easy!
Or, why move AA off the top, where it is “recommended” by default???
Jump to L-bumper, AA to L-trigger, grenades to A. Again, easy. No changes to reload/sprint/crouch. But there is no option for this and no way to change it. You need to hold the AA button to use hardlight and jetpack, so it makes sense to have it on a trigger or bumper so you can still look around/aim while using them.
It’s all personal preference, and people want something different than I do, but it’s truly baffling to me why the control schemes are so limited or why when you only want ONE button different… they swap 3, 4 or more and this happens on other schemes too. Doesn’t make sense.
I will be posting about this again and/or bumping other threads to get this issue noticed and hopefully changed. Anybody know if 343 has mentioned making any changes??? Or is it even possible to change through an update?
If it can’t be changed or they won’t, I may end up buying a Razor Onza Controller just for the two extra custom programmable buttons on the top of the controller.
