Need clarification on some pre-Halo 5 lore.

Be wary of spoilers of many kinds because I will be asking questions that may give away plot points from the books.

Hello to all. I have read some of the Halo books and played all Halo games and have a good understanding on the lore but when it comes to the Forerunner related things I get confused about some details.

Iso-Didact and Ur-Didact; which one is confirmed dead and are both considered enemies as of now?

I know Ur-Didact is the Antagonist we see in Halo 4, but I am hearing he survived?

Is the Iso-Didact dead, rather did he die at the end of Halo: Primordium after firing the Halo Array?

Also to clarify for myself, but is Bornstellar the Iso-Didact

Next: Mendicant Bias. I know he betrayed the forerunners and was controlled by the gravemind, but what happened to Mendicant Bias after that point? Which book is this explained in?

Finally: I would appreciate any small explanations of some important characters and plot points to know beforehand since I would rather not be feeling left in the dark when Halo 5 releases.

Note: If any character I listed also has another name or title they go back and I missed it please let me know because that is part of the reason this stuff gets confusion; several titles and names and I don’t recall a single one being said in Halo 4, I only heard Didact but they never mentioned the Iso or Ur part.

No they are not the same. Ur-didact is against humanity and the Iso didact is for humanity!

He was alive in halo 4 millennia after the event of the forerunner trilogy and returned again in escalation in the 72hr arch. his statues is ambiguous!

Yes he was an alternate incarnation of the Forerunner Promethean supreme commander known as the Didact (ur-didact).

Mendicant Bias. I know he betrayed the forerunners and was controlled by the gravemind, but what happened to Mendicant Bias after that point? (Which book is this explained in? Forerunner trilogy!)
MBs location is unknown but believed to be on the Ark due to his last contact Being with The MC at the end of halo 3 by means of the Halo 3 terminals.

read the forerunner trilogy. this will inform you of the forerunner back story and the main players you may see. though im not a fan i would say the escalation comics are a good jumping point after the spartan ops CGI cut-scene as this has more to do with the coming events in Halo 5

everything else will just in rish your experience. as there fare more character then i have finger that could make a minor/major appearance in halo 5 example Blue team and recently Sully ( #huntthetruth)

Iso-Didact is Bornsteller. He and a group of Forerunners survived the Halo Array activation on the Ark and left to an unknown region of the galaxy afterwards in Halo: Silentium. Mendicant Bias is defeated and buried on the Ark and forced to think of repentance for over 100,000 years and gets over his control by the Gravemind. Ur-Didact is still alive, but has been turned into a digital essence after a confrontation with Chief on Gamma Halo 72 hours after Halo 4 ended where he is ejected from a portion of the Halo and into a group of Composers.
