People have been saying that Halo 4’s campaign will be the longest in the entire franchise. Could anyone post a link to the video/website that states this?
There is nothing to clarify really. I can guarantee you we will still be looking at the usual 8-10 hours of campaign. What’s the point of having a lengthy campaign if it just becomes repetitive after a long period of time? I wasn’t a big fan of Reach’s campaign; it just got too bland after a few hours. I know the Halo games have always followed the “shoot enemies and move on” formula, but the way Reach did it (even ODST), it just wasn’t my cup of tea.
I just hope 343 can add something to the campaign that will make it more enjoyable over a long period of time. Make me WANT to actually finish the game. This doesn’t just apply to gameplay. The story, characters, heck even visuals play a part. Anyway, this is more then I should have typed. Nighty night.
I’d say around 10 to 12 hours. Always depends on how you play, and what difficulty it’s on. I’ll be taking my sweet time checking everything out like a fat kid looking at a Brusters menu.

I need clarification on campaign replay value. Will there be an extensive metagame like in Halo 3?
If modern games are any indication it’ll be rather short, plus they’ll undoubtedly use things like Spartan Ops as a justification.

Exactly.
That’s what I remember reading as well.
But I’m not expecting anything VERY long. Probably somewhere around the length of H2 (12 levels if I’m not mistaken?) which is reasonably long in a time where most singleplayer experiences take about 5-6 hours to complete.
So I’d say around 10 hours of campaign + about 50 Spartan Ops missions to lenghten the story side of the game.
