Lovely so now we’re finally having this title update and the game might be playable for t he first time in a year. My joy however was shortly lived as I was horrified at the thought of only playing in a 4v4 atmosphere.
Why o why is it 4v4? I know bungie didn’t support btb until 9 months into Reach’s life, but why is 343 immediately doing the same? Sure they brought back Headlong, but testing the new bloom varients in btb is necessary for the btb playlist to thrive once ce hits. No bloom or even 85% bloom is a wonderful idea but with a 3X zoom btb will become stagnant on maps like breakpoint, highlands, or any forge world varient. The ability to test this in advance would allow us to give our ideas on it.
BTB is generally the 3rd or 4th most populated playlist and deserves some needed love. In H3 we had a DLC btb playist twice, once for the first and 2nd map pack and the 3rd was mainly with the odst disk. However the new approach seems to want 6v6 instead of 8v8. Please create a specific beta BTB playlist so the btb fans can enjoy and test these settings without having to constantly run customs.
> I know bungie didn’t support btb until 9 months into Reach’s life
Which explains why almost every playlist is larger than 4v4, and most of the maps, including the DLC, are almost too big for 4v4? Bungie catered to BTB almost too much in this game.

So is this why there wasn’t a change to the playlist in 9 months? No new maps or gametypes? We still had to deal with btb headhunter 9 months in and the only way to win that was to let them kill you on your side and collect your own skulls. BTB is specifically 6v6-8v8
So MLG, TS, Snipers, Swat, Griffball, Action Sack, The Arena, Team Objective, Double Team, and Rumble Pit, Team Classic are a majority of playlists… They are all 4v4 or include 2-8 people.
We have Squad Slayer which should have replaced Team slayer for that playlist
Premium Slayer and Premium Battle which focus on DLC but still see a heavy voting weight on hemmorage OBJ or asylum slayer…
Invasion which is 6v6 and is a taste of something different
Then we finally have BTB… Seems bungie catered far more heavily to the 4v4 crowd. Learn the playlists before you make comments bud

Probably the playlists, but the maps for the most part cater towards the BTB crowd the most. Almost every Reach map is suitable for Big Team play.
Personally I believe they should be testing it on 5v5, right now we don’t know what kind of playlists we will have when Anniversary comes out, heck, maybe 343i isn’t even sure, hence why it’s 4v4.
Time will tell, just test, have fun and enjoy, and put it this way, you can grab a few friends or get a custom game night going on here and test the new gametypes with friends in custom games, customs & the beta hopper testing is both valid feedback.
Agreed with the OP. Customs are great but it can be really difficult to pull 16 people together for a long enough time to get a series of games going.
A beta BTB hopper would be great as it would allow the BTB community to explore different bloom settings without spending a lot of time setting up games in customs.
> Beta hoppers are just for gauging the effectiveness of the TU changes. No sense to have a bunch of different ones.

> BTB should become DLC required when the time comes anyway.
Good luck doing that with all the gametypes 343i is shoving into the beta playlist.
