So as the title says, I’m looking for advice on best practices for using the Spartan Laser.
I can’t seem to get kills with it unless the target is a vehicle, standing still or I get lucky. This is the last UNSC weapon I need to complete the UNSC Weapon Mastery. And would like to actually learn the proper technique for using the yoinking! thing.
Use it on Vehicles unless it’s an Endgame. Trust me, it’s far easier that way.
By what I learn you need to keep charging it, but never get it all the way till you want to fire it. That way it is almost always ready to fire when you get into an encounter. At less that is what I did in fiesta to get it done
For vehicles use the basic one or selene’s lance (selene’s lance will shred tanks and banshees). I use endgames on infantry because of its fast charge up time and its damage is enough to kill someone, I don’t remember if it kills them even if they have upgraded shields. Look for distracted targets or if they are in the open area with no cover. Stay out of sight too.
My advice is to try and predict where people will be and always start charging as you get are turning a
corner
also the easiest way is in warzone, use endgame. It has a really good charge rate and also the laser is quite large.
dont forget it has a very small blast so if you can’t get a good shot aim near the feet.
Also it has some good range, just stay back and snipe with it, and don’t be afraid to try a noscope!
Well the lasers will be getting a few buffs and fixes in the next update in a few days but I know my favorite for right now is the endgame the quick charge rate reduces the need for a lot of predicting
Use the spartan laser on only vehicles unless the enemy is standing perfectly still. Additionally if you have Endgame then you can use that laser pretty much on anything…Endgame is pretty good just on Spartans as well.

Worthless! Unless its a Tank not moving! Make sure what ever you shoot it at is standing still; then it might work, this includes everything, just don’t pick it up honestly.
Endgame or lance in fiesta turbo of General warzone. Damage boost it if you can and invis yourself. Stock up both these weapons for the next turbo playlist.
Btw I finished it but only because of turbo except the last 10 which I finished in fiesta with endgame.

The problem with not using them is that he or she can’t complete the Spartan Laser weapon commendation.
Endgame is good for Spartans. So is Selene’s Lance. Sometimes, you’re better off not bothering with the standard variant. Playing Fiesta works well for it when the playlist is available.
When using the Spartan laser on an enemy Spartan (outside of a vehicle) they can see the laser being charged. Best practice is to charge the laser out of sight, then pop out just a moment or two before full charge and quickly (yet smoothly) aim at your intended target by strafing. If you aim directly at the enemy Spartan they will see the laser on them and attempt to maneuver out of the way, unless of course it is already blasting them. you can also try to keep it charged by charging it and releasing it before it reaches full charge until you find something to destroy. This seems to be the more popular method, but more battle weary enemies will see this as a free prize rather than something to be feared. If you practice, you can actually do a sweeping motion with the laser to hit multiple targets (kind of like a sniper flick shot). If you do not have cover but want to try for the kill anyway, aim your laser away from the enemy while charging it (this is incredibly risky and will likely end ugly) then aim a moment before full charge. I hope this helps.
Super Fiesta Warzone Turbo are literally there for you to play and grind what you need.
This is pretty much how you have to use the regular Splaser. BTB has more lenience but it’s so slow to charge and cool that you really need to have a jump or great advantage on the situation.
If it’s a Selene’s Lance or Endgame, you can freely fire upon thy enemy. Note, Endgame only 1-shots low armour scout class vehicles but is just as easily used on the infantry (thanks to a recent bug fix).
Lots of good suggestions in this thread. Another that helped me was when my team is backed into the core. Seems like a crap time to use it but when the enemy starts spamming warthogs to do passes in your home base they are easy picking and usually 2+ kills each.
Thanks guys I’ll give some of these tips a try
Charge it 50% THEN look for a target, that way you can aim at someone and quickly fire rather than trying to hold the reticle on players. Also the red laser gives you away while charging, I will always try to hide it by pointing the reticle at a nearby object while I charge, then jump out last second to shoot.
End game is you best option. But if you are going to use it on vehicules, make sure they already suffered some damage before
I got my commendation level way up by using the BTB playlist, just run for the spartan laser on the maps that have it and try and go for vehicles.
As others have stated it is a weapon that requires some skill anticipating where opponents will be, and pre-charging the weapon.
Start charging it even behind cover, then jump out when it’s about to fire, if there is no target just release the trigger and repeat, it’s really easy to do actually you just need to practice a little.

For a second there I read the first line as one whole playlist
