Need a better indication enemy shield are "popped"

While I found the beta to be fun. I did have a hard time determining when I had actually broken the shields of my opponents. For some reason, the indication that the enemy’s shields are failing is more muted in this game. Many times I would just shoot until the person was dead but it seems there should be a better indication of when a shield is down. Halo MPs of the past have always had a “pop” sort of effect when the shield is down. I hope they add something similar to this game.

They did have a pop like effect though. The enemy shield flashed and looked like enegy dissipated outward. It seemed pretty clear to me when their shield popped

I swear there were two or three versions of this game on test. The various “aim assist” threads where they range from “perfect” to “I can’t hit anything” to the shield threads and even “the sniper is unusable” vs “I love the sniper feel”. Watching others game play clips, I can clearly see the shield pop effect but I dont recall recognizing it while in game, even against the standing still bots.

One of the issues may be the different levels of players familiarity with halo. personally I’m hardwired to look for the yellow pop, with shields matching outline colors they arent as noticeable for my muscle memory. to where as newer players may be fine with it and realize it easier.
i could also be completely wrong, its just a guess based on conjecture.

Another factor is that this flight had WAAAAAYYYY more platforms for testing. OG Xbox one, One S, One X, Series S, Series X, and PC which has its own category of systems to itself with all the combinations of hardware.

I think that’s the biggest reason why so many people had such drastic differences in the flight.

I think if they let you have a shield color option seperate from ui color/outline color it will be much easier to tell. Plus they have confirmed their working on some way to make shields better. I hope thats what they do.

Got to reiterate this. The effect when an enemy shield is down needs to be enhanced somehow. It is very hard to tell when a shield is depleted from a distance and even relatively up close. The effect is a bit to subtle. Somehow in H5 MP this was never and issue. I hope they are working on this.

Really want shields to be a different colour from the outlines. For example jf you pick the classic gold/yellow for shileds then thjs colour would be locked and couldn’t be picked for the outlines.

The shield’s colour should really be separate from the outline, and preferably with its original yellow/gold colour. It can be difficult to tell when the shields are down sometimes, and telling the difference between someone with shields and someone without is certainly tricky, at least to me.

I thought it was hard to distinguish in the first flight, but I find it very easy now. Think it is much more clear and can always tell when it is popped or if an enemy I’m looking at is already one shot.

Isn’t there currently a system where the outline colour is brighter on people with damaged shields, and there’s like sparkly particles around them if they’re popped. I thought it was pretty clear.

Overshield is really weird though because they become a big grey oval? Might be a bug, I wonder if the effect is correct but the colour is supposed to match the highlight colour but doesn’t. Curious if anyone else noticed this or I’m just crazy?

what a freaking mess removing RvB has created. Lmao, so many fundamental functions broken and rendered useless.
