I know somebody posted this somewhere. But the Flood we faced in Halo trilogies look handsome compared to the Yoinking! necromorphs. I have a feeling that in Halo 5 or if the Flood comes back in Halo, they’ll make even the Necromorphs look like they’re bunnies…
Well… I’m no expert on the Necromorphs… but I’m going to have to say the flood… Mainly due to fact that they seem to get more bang for the buck with corpses. Also I (think) that they can make some flood forms without corpses… well the Necromorhps rely on corpses. Not to mention the flood can also use guns and the little flood lings that we all hold so dear would swarm them. Flood also have the grave mind… and besides that “thing” (last boss of dead space 1) we really don’t have a confirmed “brain” for the Necromorphs.
Although the Necrompophs do seem to have a lot more… adaptability. I do know they infest animals and stuff. Never seen a flood case of that… They also seem to be able to make some really cool things too. Although since they are more based on stealth and flood are more direct… We also don’t know how the marker would affect them…
Necromorphs also seem to rely on dark dang places with very little maneuvering space. Somehow i doubt they would last in open combat (earth setting) with the military… Flood have shown they can always go toe to toe and win… (unless your a VERY lucky spartan).
So Flood.
I think what it would really come down to is “which infection is strongest”. I really have no idea about that question.
> Well… I’m no expert on the Necromorphs… but I’m going to have to say the flood…
IF you have no idea what you are talking about then don’t just vote for the party you know the “most” about.
If you seriously played any deadspace and paid any bit attention you would know the necromorphs are far more threatening than the flood. The psychological impacts on humans far exceed that of the flood. Don’t forget that they don’t need biomass to sustain themselves and CAN hibernate, which the flood cannot.
And um, the huge massive mind F*** in deadspace 3 makes it clear that they are on a completely different level than the flood.
I hate when people pick halo over something and they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

True that , and there is also a moon necromorph and bigger ancient old aliens that have turned into a brute like morph sorry if that was a spoiler

Meh, played the game already.
And so what if there is a moon Necromorph? The Flood gladly welcome it into their family. One infection form and that thing is now Flood.

i wonder if the flood can infect the necromorphs lol they are organic

I’m sorry, What I was referring to by “expert” was that I don’t know EVERYTHING about them. “expert” is exactly that… I do not have the capability to make an in depth “EXPERT” analysis on them. But I do know a lot about necromorphs, But Deadspace is not my main genre.
Also if I JUST voted for it due to the party my response would have probably been a lot shorter. I try to look at everything equally, And to be honest I HONESTLY think the flood would win. Not JUST because I’m a halo fan.
Ive played dead space 1-2. I would buy 3, but I’m on a budget. What exactly does psychological impact have to do with this argument (if were referring to a necromorph on flood battle)? A flood doesn’t feel fear. You are correct regarding the “biomass”. But I suppose I was thinking a long the lines of the fact that their main foot solders are “humans” (I don’t know if the “brute” is made out of a corpses or not tho).
As I said, I have yet to buy dead space 3, I DID however cite that “thing” at the end of dead space 1 (although not in detail I admit).
ALSO I cited it would mainly depend on which infection was strongest (on a cellular level). It would be a “who can infest who” argument. So well I favor the Flood, I’m open to other ideas.
It’s really a no brainier who would win. Could you imagine if it was a Spartan II in dead space? If a normal human can beat a Necromorph to death in melee (unless the suit enhances strength somehow) A spartan II could rip one apart.
Please don’t call me out over trivial matters and make accusations. If you want to keep arguing please PM me about this in a more civil tone.
EDIT - Ignore the biomass/corpse part, would affect both of them equally. (stupid of me) You win in that regard.
I don’t know. The Flood can withstand punches from Spartan IIs (which are usually able to punch through solid metal). When I play Dead Space, I can just stomp on some of them and they die.
If it’s a question of who would win in a fight, I’d go with the Flood. If it’s a question of which is the more potent… I’d still go with Flood, to be honest. The Flood took down the entire Forerunner civilization.
I haven’t played Dead Space 3 yet, so I don’t know what you were talking about, Bias. There could be something that could blow the Flood out of the water (don’t tell me, I haven’t played the game yet), but I would have to say that the Flood is better.

I thought this was a thread about which is more deadly on lifeforms not “which parasite would win in a battle” which is just as ridiculous.
The necromorphs would still win since they were made to infect any lifeform in the galaxy and recombine their DNA. The flood cannot infect everything nor can they actually hibernate as the necromorphs can. Nor are they as varied or resilient.

Proof you know NOTHING about the flood. If it’s organic, the Flood can infect it. Any organic thing. They can in fact hibernate, just not for millennium. Unlike the Necromorph’s, they grow, evolve and learn. They can just infect any soldier and be able to evolve the combat forms into a smarter, more efficient army. And they are resilient. Flood biomass can grow on it’s own and reinforce itself. Face it, Necromorphs will be destroyed by a never ending army that feeds off it’s dead.

Plus, the Flood are controlled by a disembodied god-being who can vary the floods power depending on who they’re fighting as of Primordium.

Although you may be correct on the flood being controlled by the grave mind… How is this a bad thing? Is it a chop of the head and the rest die idea? because I think having a higher intelligence in charge of the flood would make them strategic… (I think we need to clarify, what were debating about… because I think your correct on the fact that if it came to a long drawn out battle the necromorphs would probably win in the end if all the “Food” was consumed… but I personally think that in almost any other situation the flood would win).
BTW,what era Flood is this? Because if it’s Forerunner era Necromorphs get ROFLstomped by 100km long warships carrying multi-petaton range firepower. Also, from what I know the Flood are waaaaaaaay harder to destroy than the Necromorphs. As in, it takes orbital bombardment to fully wipe Flood from a world once they become widespread enough.
