I noticed that necro’d threads seem to happen a lot. If the necro post was relevant, the rest of the thread isn’t shut down.
Now, in most forums, the general rule is to use an existing thread instead of a new thread. But the problem was that this one thread was over a year old?
How should I go about this?
You should report the post for necroposting, in most cases, the user who necroposted the topic did it by mistake from use of the search bar or google though.

Are you asking if you should post in a year old thread if you think your post is relevant?
Or are you asking what should you do if you notice someone else necroposting?
Personally I would go the route of making a new thread. It may even be possible to find a newer thread with the same subject matter.
