A neat little trick Throwdown uses is to apply Resupply and Ammo in loadouts, and add Explosives to player traits so it overrides the second you spawn. This means your starting weapons have more ammo, but your ordnance pickups have default amounts! A neat trick, combined with weapons on-map, works perfectly to stop you watching the ammo meter.
But who picks up the CARBINE!
Here’s a neat trick you can do with traits that isn’t currently used in matchmaking.
- Set player traits to spawn with a specific primary weapon.
- Allow the use of player loadouts.
Players can use their own skins for that weapon if they have those skins in their primary weapon slot.
Would be neat to see Throwdown adopt that for Team BR’s, as there are 3 different BR variations.
^^ One problem with that would be you would have 5 different loadouts with the same equipment XD

That’s actually really great.
I’ve been wanting to use my Artic BR in Throwdown, so I hope they adapt this trick.
@A Virtual Duck, thanks for pointing that out! This’ll help greatly for custom games.
It works with tactical piggy cheese too, but I don’t think any of those except grenadier have off-spawn implications.

Yeah, unfortunately the traits apply to all loadouts so it’s only effective in gametypes that utilize a single loadout.
But since Team BR’s uses a single loadout would be neat.
