You mah have been opening packs in H5 when u get what appears to be the same as a armor piece u got, but with some little detail added, like spray paint or something Else, you may shurg it off but really, they seem to be ruining your chances of getting other newer things. I believe 343 put them in so it decreases your odds of getting newer things, so you’ll resort to buying a few packs with money, or to keep you playing. They don’t really add anything new, it’s terrible, just look how many clones are in the game! It’s lazness to me, and it shows that they don’t care. I love the armpr in halo games, especially Halo Reach. I feel that it should have been like Reach, lets say you got a armor piece, but don’t like it’s look, they could make it so you could use rqs to get them if you want. Do u argee?
Few typos, beware!
I don’t really agree with any of that except a couple things like the motivation for playing and make it like Reach. Making variants of existing armor wouldn’t be surprising considering they had to make a crap load of armor for all the updates that were coming out. There’s only so much unique armor you can make before the designs start to suffer due to how much quantity they needed to produce and it definitely showed. The Seeker helmet is a good example of that. I really doubt they would’ve been able to produce that much armor and make each piece not only unique, but also have individual pieces like Reach had in the time frame they were working with. Maybe if we had less armor and more time between armor drops then I would think it’s possible for that to happen.

But why is it necessary for SO MUCH ARMOR! The point should definitely be quality over quantity. And what OP was meaning is the fact that you can unlock a helmet, say EVA, and you’re like great! But then you unlock 4 other variants of EVA, where one of them is considered “Rare” because it has an arrow pattern on the sides, but the others are “Uncommon” because they each have DIFFERENT paint designs. Nobody cares for the MF paint design and whether that makes it “Rare” or"Uncommon". I got the helmet, now I want a completely new one.
Edit: I just noticed you already realized what OP was saying, my bad. But my statement still stands .
You’ll be happy to hear that the customization system will be Reach inspired… whatever that means lol I agree about the req pool chance thing, pretty scummy thing to do if true.
There’s no other reason to have so many “variants” other than to bloat the REQ pool. Same thing goes for all the loadout variants and weapon/vehicle “certifications.” Everything about the REQ system is designed to make players get frustrated and resort to buying packs with cash. So yeah, agree with what you said, OP.
One tip for halo infinite armor, quality beats quantity
