constructive feedback is one thing, but openly bashing 343i for what they delivered with Halo 5 Guardians, is just flat out wrong.
I understand most of you are young and haven’t been with this franchise since 2001, but knocking 343i & Guardians, on a fundamental level, only serves at highlighting how little experience you have when dealing with a AAA gaming franchise, and life in general.
please do us day 1 Halo fans a favor and zip it with respect to the bashing of 343i and this franchise. 343i delivered, arguably, the best Halo title since 2001 with their most recent installment, Guardians.
If enough “fans” continue voicing negative opinions, it might jeopardize the direction 343i takes with their next installment of the Halo series
(Lastly, and in the event you didn’t know, 343i is a company founded and staffed by, true fans who literally bleed Halo on a day in day out basis)

I get it’s the Internet. BUT.
Let’s talk about perfection, and the possibility of achieving it by “perfections” strict definition.
Hmmmm
now that the Eutopian daydream is over with, maybe we should be throwing praise in 343i’s general direction for what they accomplished with Halo 5 Guardians.
Halo has seen a lot of changes over the years. With Halo 4, 343 tried to take different things that different parts of the community liked and put them in one game, and add their own ideas as well. That’s why the BR returned in Halo 4, that’s why the game had AA’s, and that’s why the game had loadouts/ordnance drops. With Halo 5, they once again tried to listen to the community and make a more competitive game but try and keep some of the Reach/4 features in some form or fashion. That’s why we have equal starts, that’s why we have competitive maps, and that’s why we have Spartan Abilities. With all the different features we’ve seen in past Halo titles, it’s impossible to cater to every single part of the community. They can’t just remove all AA’s/SA’s from the series, because then they’d disappoint players who prefer those features. They can’t just make a straight up XP-only ranking system because they’d disappoint the players who want a skill-based ranking system in place. So on and so forth
I feel like at this point, it’s not possible for 343 to make a good, appealing Halo game. That has nothing to do with my opinion on their games (I don’t like Halo 4’s multiplayer much but I think Halo 5’s could be one of the best with some more tweaks). No matter what decisions they try to make with the game to make it as fun for every person in the community as possible, it never seems to be enough. The forums are filled with topics about wanting a refund for the game, about all the issues with the game but not about any of the good parts of the game, about how some people are done with Halo. I’m not sure if this is because 343 didn’t make a Halo 2/3 clone, if it’s because they aren’t Bungie (who, may I add, made Reach, which a lot of people did not like). It just feels like to me that no matter what 343 does with every next Halo title, it won’t ever be enough to be a good game to most of the community. It’s pretty unfortunate, honestly, that they put so much work into a game just for most people to tear it down. I’m not saying don’t complain about the game, but I question whether or not 343 will ever be able to make a Halo game that most people end up actually liking without it being a clone of an older Halo title
Honestly, as a day one, long-time Halo fan, this doesn’t bother me. It probably shouldn’t bother you either. 343 didn’t ask you to come in riding on a white horse… this is a public forum, so people should be allowed to say what they want to say. Might some of it be stupid? Almost certainly.
Also, ‘constructive criticism’ is tossed around so much as to basically mean nothing. And let’s be honest here, 343 fumbled a bit on delivering a good narrative in the campaign. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to make a campaign, but there were choices made that are simply perplexing.

The only thing they accomplished is they managed to ruin a great franchise even more.

Would you care to elaborate? I would love to engage you in our differences of opinion with respect to 343i’s handling of the Halo franchise

I get that, but I have love this universe. And I am objective enough to know when there is a mistake being made. If 343i does something wrong, I would be the first (and try to be the loudest) with sounding off with respect to the mistake.
But H5 is a great piece of work and I can’t just stand idly by when newcomers are bashing the newest installment of the franchise

The issue is, the game is a cluster -Yoink-. It makes no since how one moment its one of the best games that I’ve played and the next its the absolute worst. The Multiplayer of this game is the EXACT reason you don’t allow ‘Pro’ to design your game, this game punishes you for playing it.
Yeah let’s be real here, there’s no reason to bash 343i just yet in the first week of release. You have to give the game time to blossom and turn into something.

Agreed. Let us not forget Reach before the TU playlists…

Sure. Good point.
But the only other solution would be silence. Just reading the negative posts and not taking a stance.
And to affect change, that would be a bad course of action.
This game sucks because of 343 trying to steal mechanics from every other top game. If people dont complain, then we dont give 343 a heads up that stuff needs to change. They still dont listen to any of the community that actually matters since we have this mixture of cod/battlefield/LOL/CS;go but we have spartans so that makes it halo.
