Native Language in Halo in stead of English

This thread is mainly aimed at a very specific part of the community, namely the Dutch Halo players, but maybe people from other countries have the same issue.

I would like to comment on the fact that most of the text you see on your screen as a Dutch player will now be in the Dutch language. I think it is very annoying.

First of all, English has always been the language used in previous Halo games, why change that? Secondly, things that sound/look good in English definitely don’t sound/look good in Dutch. To be honest, some of the terms look and sound laughable.

I would like to hear your views on your native language being used in stead of English.

Thanks. But my selected language has always been English. I would have to change my locale settings to UK or United States. I have tried this, and it works. But I am not an Englishman or an American, am I?

But if anyone else finds this annoying, now at least they will know to adjust the settings…

Localization in games is horrid. Halo 4 has some ok translations, but take for instance Assassin’s Creed 3 the game was unplayable to me personally with the localization. But a quick fix for it is indeed changing the console’s locale from console settings. However localization is a nightmare.
