Do you guys think it’s a little weird that Nathan Fillion is going to be in the new Destiny game when he plays Buck in H5? I mean I know the guy does voices for everything sci-fi, heck he was just in Rick & Morty.
I know H5 came out in 2015 but he just did the voice pack thing not too long ago. My question is this, do you think him rolling with Destiny is conformation he will not have a prominent role in in H6?
No not at all. At the end of the day actors do what ever pays.

I mean Destiny came out in 2014, before Halo 5 did…
He also played Buck in ODST, before Destiny came out.
He can be in both games.

Yeah that’s fair, I mean don’t get me wrong, I understand 100% why he would do it. I just want know if he is going to come back to Halo, and/or will 343 want him to. Not like they have hard feelings, just because he is in another major FPS

Yeah he will probably return, after all he is our beloved Buck. I don’t think 343 care, as long as he gets the game to sell.

Let’s see he was in odst which was done by Bungie and there were several destiny easter eggs in odst, and he was in destiny 1 which was also made by bungie…do you see where I’m going with this? He is an actor and is looking to get paid,he has no allegiance to anyone and worked with bungie first…so what’s the problem?

He also worked with bungie before 343

Read above comment. I know the history of Halo. My worry is him being in two major Sci-fi titles at once. I don’t really know how these things work.

Why would it though? Destiny 2 is 4 months away from being launched and halo 6 is at least a year and a half away…so what would stop him

Well they are focusing on Chief in Halo 6 so Buck is definitely going to have a slightly smaller role than he did in Halo 5. I don’t ththink no Destiny 2 has anything to do with it though, voice actors are able to do a lot of gigs in short amounts of time and since Nathan Fillion is pretty much just playing himself in both games he won’t have nearly as many mess ups as actors doing more deep or alien voices.
Fillion will also star in Cars 3 as Mr. Sterling.
It’s voice acting it isn’t a big deal. I mean Troy baker is in practically every single video game and nobody complaints. It’s not like he’s playing super man and wolverine, then there would be a problem but there’s nothing wrong with this. Most casuals won’t even notice he does both
Nathan Fillion doesn’t work for Bungie. He doesn’t work for 343i. He works, essentially, for himself. He has a particular way about his acting that makes him an attractive choice for many scenarios, especially sci-fi. He is not obligated to have loyalty to any one particular studio, developer, or franchise. He goes where he wants to go. He is in Halo and Destiny because he 1) got paid to do both projects, and 2) wanted to do both projects. If studios didn’t hire talent that was used in other potentially competing franchises, there would be a lot less talented voice acting in games in general.
Also, it sounds like you think there is bad blood between Bungie and 343i. There isn’t.

Agreed he even came out in the first Guardians of The Galaxy but not the second showing how Nathan Fillion has a career that works best for which means he’s up to anything no matter what.

Actually Nathan Fillion’s role in Destiny was in 2015, part of the Taken King expansion.

No he was in the original release of Destiny. He just sounded less fun and more serious.
[Listen to the Dust Palace strike that was PS4-exclusive at launch.

I don’t see why I would…
Josh Grelle gets roles in like fifty different anime every year yet I don’t mind that I hear his voice so often.

No, you did not read my comments. I made it completely clear that I did not think their was “bad blood” between them. My questions was simply, would Buck have a large role considering he is in two major FPS titles at once. I dont know where you got that from.
You seem to have replied to me under the assumption that I think its wrong for him to be in both games. I apologise if that is the way it came off. I just wanted to know how companies deal with things like this. I have no clue, that is why I am asking.

Fillion recorded lines for 2014’s vanilla Destiny. He had an expanded role for The Taken King, and likely went back into the studio to do those lines at some point during Destiny’s first year. But he was involved in Destiny before Taken King.
