Names of Maps Lackluster?

Does anyone else find the names Wraparound and Warhouse to be somewhat bland and uninteresting?

I know it is a very minute detail to criticize, but I can’t help but feel like the names sound better as placeholders.

What is your opinion on this relatively insignificant thought?

The name could be trashhouse and as long as it plays well, I will enjoy it.

Warhouse seems fitting for the idea behind the map but wraparound just sounds dirty.

They both sound fine to me, but maybe thats just me…

Some halo map names have a very complex meaning using advanced vocabulary that at first may not seem to make sense for the map, but eventually does.

examples:
Coagulation
Derelict
Ascension
Colossus
Epitaph

Another group of halo maps uses words that define what the map is right away.

examples:
Blood Gulch
Beaver Creek
The Pit
Sword Base

I personally prefer the more complex names, but I will play them either way.

I always liked the complex names the best names for Halo maps, they sound much more mysterious and when you finally get to know what the name means, you understand it fits the map perfectly. But in the end, the map name isn’t the quality desiding factor, but an alternate name at least for Wraparaound would be good, something fancy that describes the map.

Wraparound=Helios (It is a solar collector right?)

Warhouse=Doom Fortress (Just a joke!)

I think they said it actually produces the artificial sun, not “collects” it

first one, yes. Second one, sounds like something out of Marvel comics.

Eh, sounds about right. Just the same though.

Yeah, Doom Fortress is just a little joke. But if I had to give it a serious name, I’d go with Workbench.

They’re a little plain. : /

Could this be their Beta names still? Or is this their official name?

Warhouse is…whatever.

Wraparound sounds lazy

i dont mind the names too much.

i bet some people were like.

“the pit what does that map even mean, sounds boring,” when they first heard of the pit

I think these maps were named this way because:

  1. they were meant to describe the maps direction of movement (wraparound is kind of small and easy to get around in a short amount of time as stated int eh bulletin so far)

  2. or they just wanna tell us what it is (warhouse is literally a war house)

  3. they might just be temporary names.

dont worry theyll have some intelligent names in there. Bungie did the same thing with their maps as well:

-the pit (i avtually love this map a lot trying not to rag on it :p)
-narrows (has narrow hallways and corridors)
-Beaver Creek

some of their greatest maps had the simplest names get my drift? :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought the name “The Pit” sounded interesting. Although thats usually because when I thought about the word pit, I thought of a dark cavern with spikes and battles to the death occurring in them, like from Mortal Kombat.

Let me just say I do not like Warhouse…sounds too much like something else.

Yes, yes I would. However, the pit from halo wasn’t dark and torture filled, but I liked it nonetheless

Lol, after saying warhouse over and over I finally understood.

Anyway, you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, or in this case, a map by it’s name.
