Nameplates suggestion

Not a ‘why can’t I change it’ thread, don’t worry

From what I can tell:

  • Older game, no point supporting nameplate changes
  • More focus on Halo 4
  • Most of the nameplates were Bungie related - not owned or affiliated by 343
  • You seem to be stuck with your current nameplate forever

Cool, I understand that. Now the suggestion:

Add a link or button to simply remove your nameplate if you wish.
I don’t understand the data or whatever behind the scenes, but deleting something seems a little less controversial?
Plus i’m kind of sick of my star. c:

Mine is the Halo CE nameplate that could only be obtained if you owned Halo CE for PC… I would never change or remove it.

Other than the Marathon plate… Almost felt like I had the rarest.

Currently have the Bungie nameplate. I like having it now since it was Bungie’s last Halo game.

I appreciate you guys like your nameplates. The feature i’m suggesting lets people who don’t like them remove them, entirely by choice. So you’re safe! :slight_smile:

Anyone know if this forum is good for getting feedback from 343 directly?

I don’t think it’ll be possible to remove them as (as you correctly noted) the nameplates have more to do with Bungie than 343. All that information was not part of the transfer, I believe, so there’s no way for 343 to access Bungie’s info regarding nameplates.

I understand Halo is 343’s pretty much now, but out of all the things I miss the most with Bungie gone is the nameplates. They were so cool, I mean you could represent from which era you started playing Halo. The beginning, the Golden Ages, or the end. Or you could have one from another Bungie game, Marathon Durandal or just the plain old, dare I say it, Septagon. I know I might sound like a Bungie fan-boy, and if so I’m sorry and its not intended, but I just wish that somehow the nameplates could be changed once more.
