Forgive me for being slow, but I just realized that you cannot change your in-game nameplate from Bungie.net.
Could someone point me in the direction to do that? Thanks.
You can no longer change your nameplate, as Waypoint does not support them. The nameplate you have now, you will have forever, and ever and ever and ever.
As far as I know you can no longer change your nameplate, I believe it was a Bungie.net thing only so I am afraid that you will be stuck with your current nameplate till Reach servers go down.

well, you never know… I’ve got my hopes up after seeing that they brought back the file share feature, AND making it bungie pro style for FREE… so, hey! they just might soon add that feature! I’m already loving having 343 in charge. they’re fairly more generous with challenge completion credits too! ^^
have a little faith, my friend… so far, I think 343’s done us all right. I wouldn’t put it beyond them to get us our nameplate options back!

They always had the intention to bring the file share back up. I think it just took time to get it up and running. Sorry to burst your bubble, but I’m pretty sure they said they wont be picking up the nameplate option.
