I know that with the departure of bungie 343 said they would not be keeping the ability to change nameplates. However my question is will the people who currently have a nameplate keep it or will they all be removed?

Same here. I want to show my love to the company that brought us Halo.
I have been unsure of this question since they announced the final transition. Glad someone could answer.
As for me, I went with my DMR nameplate. It is rare, and shows my affection for my favorite Reach weapon!
I have mine set to Halo, which you get from playing Halo 1, 2, and 3. Have to show my love to my favorite games! 
I kept my ‘HALO’ nameplate too.

You have had since they announced the transition date to change your nameplate, it is too late now.
Made mine the Mark VI helmet because it’s as Bungie said “for the most steadfast fans”
