I am interested in them shrinking map down some (Truth). Nerfing Ar damage and spread. Increasing thruster recharge time and Ground Pound on D-pad mainly for BJ. I also, as you may know, I’m not a fan of all these high pitched noises too. Reducing Chatter about Power Weapons is a must, we don’t need to be spoonfed constantly.
Is he actually naked?
I think he is naked.

Only one way to find out.

Im sorry but all of those would be bad ideas. These mechanics work because they are useful, weapons feel better than ever because they are useful. Start nerfing things down and we are back to Halo with underpowered weapons and abilities no one uses because they there is no functionality to them, like the abilities or Reach and Halo 4, all useless.

I’m not sure what you read, but he only wanted a nerf to Ar and thrusters. Did you even read or just everything bad? You are just stating that things work, because they are useful, but not explaining anything.
Who is he and why should I care?

These mechanics dont work, thats why its the 1st time they’ve been implemented. And the ratio of people hating them vs finding them useful is 50:1. Read around the forums.

dunno, if you don’t care then don’t post

A Halo speedrunner.

Really? 50:1? because this is the first time i see someone complaining about those. I see people happy that the AR is useful once more, and that every weapon fees useful. I go to Gaf and i see praise and more praise. I see gifs people make demonstrating how awesome thrust is.
Again, if for every step forwards we take one backwards we are never going to leave the rut Halo is in right now.

They AR is much useful in Halo 4 and H2A. In other games they do have their moments closer up. I figured since this game is returning smg and Ar, that it would behave similarly to how they both perform in H3 and H2A.
The Smg is a short range shredder, and the Ar is short/mid range. Both weapons have received a notable range and accuracy boost and Ar is mid range now. I would almost think that Guardians Ar could most definitely be renamed the SAW with a scope and enhanced spread. There’s a difference between Op and being useful.
People at Gaf will make gifs about anything, and like us, consist of many different opinions. I’m not sure why you included them in your argument, as it makes no difference of how some have reacted over there.
You forget that with the new sprint handicap, long range weapons have extra advantage to pick up people running away with almost zero health. The AR was always a mid range weapon an it should behave like one. SMG should be lethal at close range, AR at close and mid Range and BR at long range.
The br’s scope doesn’t allow for long range, unlike a dmr. Without the dmr, people had only their skill to hit long shots with the br, and the sniper rifle was the only long range weapon.
That is why people sit behind rocks across the map with a Dmr or LR, because they are long range. It hampered movement on Ragnarok. People moved more on Valhalla, cuz BR is mid range at best, same for carbine.
There is certainly some tweaking that needs to be done with weapon balance but considering my experience with beta beta last weekend, and how much time they have before release, im not worried about it. as it stand right now the weapon range from closest to furthest is,
SMG > AR > BR > DMR > Sniper
I would reduce the SMG range slightly as it overlaps with the AR a little too much. Leave the AR, BR and DMR as they are as far as range and power are concerned. Maybe reduce the recoil of the DMR slightly or more appropriately have it return to center maybe a 1/4 second faster but leave the “degree” of the recoil the same. The zoom animation of the sniper could be sped up as well but I would keep the slower firing rate.
IMO the shotgun to SMG range should be so that the furthest distance that you can 2-shot kill with the shotgun should almost kill at the same range with the SMG. I don’t know if i said that clearly enough so here is an example: If i have the shotgun and i am just barely able to 2 shot kill someone with it because of the range, i should be very close to dead if they were shooting me with the SMG the whole time.
at this point the weapon balance just needs some minor tweaks but we will see if that remains true when we have access to the full spectrum of weapons come the full beta next week.
I don’t think map size should be reduced because of how fast-paced the game is now. Empire for one is actually a bit too small if you ask me. With sprint, thruster, and clambering, you have a ton of options to zip around the map so maps need to be big, even for 4v4.
