Nade Explosion should change

After the “ask 343” session i watched the gameplay trailer for the first time

It has some clips that arent in the official game trailer and reminded me of the terrible nade explosions as on 0:22.
It looks like an exploding bucket of painting color and give the whole game a comic characteristic which doesnt fit with the overall dark story.
Especially with the angry brute voice over it just feels weird and also a bit silly.
I really hope they change that to a less colorful version so the game has a more serious vibe. (like the music always had)

Yeah, it looked like splashing some paint all over the place. It should look like an explosion from halo 3 imo.

Same, not a fan of the nade explosions. Looks like a cartoony graphics style which doesn’t fit the rest of Halo’s aesthetic in my opinion.

Maybe this is a hot take but I don’t actually think that’s a frag grenade going off. I certainly hope not. It looks more like some sort of red/banished plasma grenade? Maybe it’s a different item, or it related to the primary weapon the player is using at that moment? (the ravager?)

Uuhhh… am I missing something? I don’t see anything resembling a fresh grenade going off in ther linked vid. 0:22 has chief firing the Brute pistol thing, and throwing a drop shield

same, I know the plasma grenades are really blue and look kind of like paint. Id like that to be toned down but anything that seems like a frag or even the spike nade, doesnt look like paint to me
