So I have around 50 body pieces and over 60 helmets. If I save up and buy like 80 silver packs, then buy the 34 gold pack thing. What are my odds of getting some mythic reqs?

But do you think my odds are greatly increased?
Hard to say, I went exclusively gold, and got great stuff, but also got alot of silver pack junk. It you don’t mind occasionally getting emblems in your gold packs, your 32 packs are bound to have at least one mythic. That said the most economical way is to keep on silvers until you get 3k points back. That will increase the odds of getting better stuff in your gold packs.
