Mythic II DLC Worth it?

Hi everyone! Halo 3 was my first Halo game and I got it back in 2008. I purchased all the DLC packs up to and including Mythic I, but never bought Mythic II because I picked up ODST instead when that came out. Now, 5 years later, I’m off in college and my Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST disks stay home with my brother, so I only play them when I go home. I was very excited to start playing again when the game went free on my xbox at college, and I also still have every DLC pack but Mythic II on my hard drive. I played today and the population was at 25000 (broken as it may be it’s still higher than the 2-5k it usually shows), but I could only play a few non-DLC playlists.
I know Mythic II is only $5 right now, but is it worth it to buy the pack just so I can have a complete virtual collection? I only rarely play the disc…To those of you who have been playing the last few days, is the population in the DLC-only playlists enough to warrant this purchase?

I started playing Halo 3 again back during the summer and I never had trouble finding games in big team at least and a few other playlists even when the population said 0 due to broken population counter, so I definitely think its worth it, it is the best Halo game in my opinion and I think everyone should go back to playing it. You may run into trouble finding ranked games if you have a party with drastically different skill levels in that playlist.

I had similar occurrences of finding games over the last year or so when there were 0 players, but skill gap will probably be an issue.

Well I play H3 straight off the odst disk, but I would say for that price it’s a bargain, last night when I played it was easy to find games this involved most of the dlc maps too, so I would say go for it but if not it’s still no problem to jump into a match on this beautiful game.

i Bought all of The Map Packs (Legendary/Mythic I & II) back in 2011 just so i could get the game as a On Demand but i waited to get the game and when i saw that Microsoft had made the game free, I decided to get the game as a direct to download.

Mythic II is worth it.

It’s just $5. I bought it for 2 profiles on 2 consoles to avoid the discs. Think of all the times you won’t have to get up to put in the disc. To me it was worth it for just that.

You could always call home and get a family member to mail you, your copy of Halo 3 ODST to your college.

Thanks for all of the suggestions everyone!

Unfortunately I’d like to have my ODST disk shipped to me, but it wouldn’t be fair to my brother with his gamertag. He has no DLC whatsoever, so even though we bought ODST together when it was released I took the DLC with me on the gamertag that is now mine. I guess the best point made is that it’s just $5. I just hope the population survives for awhile.

I’d just buy ODST again, honestly. You can get it really cheap now and you don’t have to install those map packs onto your HDD at all.

Good point. Maybe I’ll look into that instead.
