Mythic Hunter Takedown Strategies

If you guys play WZFF, you probably have those games where the final level is 4 hunters in either Red or Blue base. Personally, I found difficulty with these, and so here are some strategies I’ve found that work.

Strategy: Scorpions
This is a decent strategy to take them down. The only issue is that you have to hit them from afar, as they will decimate you if you close in on them. Also, if they are behind a wall, it’s extremely difficult.
Strategy: Mantises
Generally, you only make use of the rockets. Make sure your shields are up, get in range, shoot your rockets, duck behind cover, rinse and repeat.
Strategy: High DPS + Active Camouflage
This strat is weird, as half the time they still see you, half the time they don’t. You want to get a high DPS REQ weapon (like The Answer, Light of Urs) and put on an Active Camouflage power up. Sneak behind the Hunter, and open fire on it’s orange wormy backside. This generally only works if they focus another target first. Still, it’s quite fun and if used correctly can eliminate a mythic Hunter within 10 seconds.

If you guys have difficulty with the quad Hunter levels in WZFF, hopefully this helped out. Feel free to comment your ways too. Cheers!

Spam them with the plasma caster.

Ghost Ultra works well if you are at a range where evading their fire is easy.

Problem with this is that the armor on the Ultra is really insignificant vs their modded fuel rods. Especially in CQC situations.

True, though AI explosives seem to tear pretty much any vehicle apart.

Indeed they do. Ghost Ultras work fantastically against normal Hunter bosses in open situations, though.

Yeah. The problem with the end-game bosses is that they’re always stuffed in small areas, making them nearly impossible to kill.

Precisely why I have this thread, haha.

Wraiths work a lot better in this situation than Scorpions. You can go right up to the back of the base and lob shots at the hunters.

Used The Answer with a damage boost the last time I faced them. Obviously had to be a little patient to get both, but it worked very well

The Scorpions-from-a-distance has worked well for me. And if the Hunters go behind a wall just have a teammate run around them at a moderately safe distance (having a speed boost equipped here helps too) to draw them back into the tank driver’s line of fire.

Wraith ultra works best IMO - the primary explosion usually stuns the hunter and the secondary explosion will usually hit behind the hunter. This causes a good chunk of damage (I would guess between 5-10% depending on how many secondary explosions hit)

For Weapons - The White Scar destroys hunters…If you stick the back part, I would say between 15-20% life per shot. The Arc light rail gun will stun hunters if hit on the body/face (not shielded area) and will do decent damage if done to the back.

If they are in the base - you can also get a wasp/phaeton above them. If you get people using DMR/BR from down below, you can do some decent damage this way.

When in a struggle…Plasma Casters, AI’s nemesis

Use Wraiths, the plasma mortars can get over the walls and hit the hunters, without being in the Hunter’s line of fire!

Typhoons or that needle plasma caster, I can’t remember the name to

Wraith + wheelman mod no contest. If you can be the first one in there with a wraith you can get a massive amount of kills. Go straight to the rear and take out all the grunts, etc. After that the hunters on the sides are really easy, then you can either keep the area clear for your team to get the rear ones or try to go up the rear ramp and get shots to the back. Base model wraith might not be the best, but the ultra wraith dominates that scenario.

The White Scar does wonders against them

Carbine works for me. Cheap and quick.

Yeah the Plasma Caster is surprisingly super effective against them.

Talon of the lost is surprisingly efficient and cheap, it rips hunters apart, since the needler is designed to be OP against lightly armoured adversaries: which is what the hunters are.
