I am very curious of the cause, an if fixing it at this point will even be possible without just reseting everyone at this point. I live for ultra-rare FFA rotationals so its a shame that this was the one that glitched out
I have seen ONE player in
Diamond 4 (screenshot is on my Twitter). I have not seen ANY - or + CSR movement myself, but if you quit a game = big drop in CSR.
Why would that one player be progressing thru D4 and NOBODY ELSE is above D3?
Seems to be working as intended now I’ve seen onyxs and varying levels of diamond plats and golds in my games today loses have been slowly eroding my rank i can’t speak to winning and gaining rank tho

I have heard from someone who has continued to play it recently: placed 4th = -CSR, 2nd = -CSR, several 1st wins = STILL -CSR👎 = no result did +CSR.
How ranked FFA used to work (when I played it yrs ago): If in Top 3 = always +CSR, while 1st place gains the most, then varying depending on which ranks you beat, etc. While 4th place and below = -CSR.
If it is NOT functioning like this, every game dropping CSR (whether Top 3, Win or last place) = it is broken in a different way than it was last week 
Top 3 in FFA should gain CSR, at least small amount = if you are Top 3 you are competitive💪 in those games.
Compare to how in 4v4 Slayer you can lose 49-50 and if you did the BEST with say 21-9 = -CSR while opponent who did -10 got carried = +CSR just because his "team won"

Recently I was in “ranked” and saw a fresh new player (level 14) did 5-18 and had “Diamond 3” CSR. . . I’m Max Rank 152 and have the H5 Mastery:1st_place_medal:World Record = destroyed the level 14 (obviously), yet CSR says we are “equals”? Come on now:rofl:

What you said “how ranking works” is NOT much different than how I said it SHOULD work for FFA (said 1st place should gain most and Top 3 always gain some CSR), other than your bit about the “MMR being more than CSR, plus Wins” = all the hidden information is what’s bad about CSR. IF MMR is even a factor, it should not be hidden.
It’s not just H5 being shady with hidden info, CoD CW is horribly rigged😡 in SOCIAL Vs.
When I (ranked in Top 1%
skill stats global, 2.5 E/d, 2.03 K/D, 37x killstreak, etc.) search matchmaking:
it starts “searching 31 ping . . .” then after 10 seconds it says “expanding search to 49 ping . . .” = Usually does NOT match until 60-95 ping, WHY?
Do you really believe there are ZERO players of ANY skill tier searching NukeTown playlist at 31 ping? Of course there are likely 1000s, but the rigged SBMM is skipping lobbies of average players until it finds a lobby that it feels is “fair match” = players who have K/D above 2.0. All this info is HIDDEN👎
Transparency would say “searching 31 ping . . . skipping lobbies below 2.0 K/D, expanding search to match high skill bracket”.
All the hidden info in these games is disgusting

Shouldn’t this be permitted? Just because someone is new to the game but also talented doesnt mean they should suffer in the ranked gameplay imho

Yea I have only been able to find one match since the ranking system has reportedly been fixed, I think the botched start really hurt the population. Such a shame, FFA playlists are rare.

IF you are NEW how can you claim to be “talented”? You are learning the maps, weapons, weapon and power up spawn placements and times, etc. IF you have not played much or at all and do AMAZING in placement games = should be a red flag for a smerf account (you are NOT new) or cheating.
I’m not really for CSR placement because of this and several other reasons, I much prefer a rank system that combines individual skill (not Team W/L) + experience grind = the MCC ranks Bronze -
tier is a good example or the CSR from Titanfall.

While the MCC ranks are not technically a CSR (XP can’t be lost), it is much more skill based than H5’s 1-152 ranks and is also more skill based than a lot of results I’ve seen with H5’s CSR (a level 14 player goes 5-18 and has D3/MAX placement!?
).
The main issue I would say exist with the competitive skilled based ranking system in Halo 5 (and many of games) is the lack of transparency which makes it difficult to simulate the ranking system in a controlled setting. It would probably be amazing if if we had all of the information presented in a transparent way in order to allow us to calculate how our rank changed based on our performance and how it would be differ, given a different outcome from the match.
My guess is that the ranking system is designed in such a way that the playlist rank should converge towards a number which is related to the player performance compared to the performance for the playlist population in general.

I kinda get what you’re saying. But I think it is possible for a new player with general halo experience, but no experience in H5 to come in fresh and be talented. I think thats the one thing you’re not considering.
I have not been able to pass to diamond 4, the teams they put are incredibly uneven, the problem is that when you are of a lower rank, they put you with onyx or champions. I got 3 champions in the same game. 3!
