I was thinking, every playable character in the campaign has a different HUD depending on their helmet. Then I thought, why don’t they have those in multiplayer? They look really good, especially Buck’s and Vale’s. I think it would make the helmets feel more unique. Do you think they should have different HUDs in future Halo games? I think it would be a great addition to customization.
Would be cool, however everything has to be the same so it’s fair.
Customizable HUDs is something I thought we would have by now. I thought it was going to be something we got after reach with all it’s armor customization that the only next step was that but instead they took a huge step backwards with armor customization.

I don’t know if it would make that much of a difference though. Every HUD has the same elements, it’s just a different skin.

I don’t see how changing the outlines on the HUDs creates inbalance. They’re very minor changes made to the HUD.
I like the idea, especially since many people are in support of custom HUDs for the different helmets. While I like the idea on paper, many helmets in Halo 5 would look ridiculous if they had custom HUDs. Some don’t even have visors and use cameras to see, how would they make that work?
I think making the mythic helmets the only helmets with custom HUDs would not only be a great way to implement the feature, but further increase the status of the mythic rarity. Not only do you have armor and helmets used by characters both past and present, but now you get a custom HUD based on that helmet. This also further adds to the customization levels as visor colors will be seen by you and other players.
No need to provide idea son. 343 will never put it in because they want to maintain what they call equal starts… somehow hud is part of their plan for this. so nope its not happening in halo 5 for sure. I personally have lost faith in 343 and halo 6… i am quite sure it will be a failure just like halo 5…

tell that to the 343 and the pros who made the foundation of this game.

Pretty sure all the helmets use cameras and light receptors (don’t quote me on the last one) to see images on the visor inside the helmet, and don’t actually see through the visor unless it’s an emergency or something (in Fall Of Reach, the Master Chief lifted his helmet’s visor when talking to Halsey). And of course, the HUD wouldn’t be visible to anyone but the wearer - so how would they look ridiculous with custom HUDs?
343 discussed this topic already when H5 came out, they never intended to do so.
Can’t remember the exact reasons though.

It’s a lot easier to rearrange some armour pixles then mess with the game mechanics aka HUD. And what if you got a great helmet but the HUD, by virtue of being different, hindered your view of the intel? Neat idea, but doubt that will happen. Not for 100+ helmets.
What would be nice is customizable HUD via settings. Have 4 different ones like you mentioned or whatever. That way they are controlled standard, but give you a refreshing look.
I mean if they wanted it to be truly equal even in terms of purely cosmetic aspects, they wouldn’t have armor customization at all. Some helmets make your head appear way bigger/smaller than the hitbox. Remember in H3 when people wore the Rouge helmet because they thought it actually made a difference in head size? Or in Reach when people thought playing as a female gave you a smaller hitbox? I think those things make a much bigger difference than the color and shape of a transparent HUD. Some perfect balancing has to be sacrificed in order to bring desirable features such as customization.

Maybe we could have HUD have an on off feature as well, in case you like the helmet and hate the HUD.

it could at least be color able visors the VISR would be cool w/ the same color as the team or so on
