Mysteriously Absent Game Guide

Has there been any information on an actual, printed game guide for HALO Infinite?
I have checked the Microsoft Store, Amazon and the Prima/Brady Games websites and I cannot find anything.
Did I miss something?

Considering that Prima closed down about two years ago - I don’t think there will be an official guide.

The thing about printed game guides is; they become incomplete after the game’s first expansion/update, and often completely irrelevant after something like a Title Update.

A Destiny 2 guide from launch, as an example, would be completely useless now.

Agreed, outside of being collectors items (which to be fair, they can be) they become obsolete fairly quickly.

I still remember a guide for StarCraft HotS that I got that was out of date AT LAUNCH because between when the others had access to the game and launch the units in game had changed abilities.

The multi-player component of a game guide may become obsolete, but the Campaign maps, walkthroughs, Skull and Data locations and other map items do not. I have a game guide for every Xbox game I have purchased for the past 20 years and many guides for the older games dating back to the 1980’s/Nintendo days.

Yes, I know that most of the information will end up online, and I can print it all out if I want to, but, that is not the same as having the guide, on day one as a companion to the game.

I don’t think that a 20 page guide is what one would expect…

I remember going through the Halo CE guide over and over lol. I just loved the art and models. Dang I’m old.

There were guides for Halo 4, and one for Halo 5. There have been game guides for all of the Halo games, so why not one for H6/Infinite?

I believe that 343i should have put one out along with the Art of Halo Infinite book or along with the Halo Encyclopedia.
Imagine having a huge book with all of the Halo maps and levels included…

Anyway, I still think it’s odd that there isn’t anything available, nor is there a true “Legendary Edition” available. I’m not entirely convinced that the Halo Infinite Console bundle will even be available after the “supply chain” stupidity is corrected.

I’d hardly call the lack of a game guide “mysterious”. I’d call it inevitable.

Game guides died out years and years ago. Truth be told no one really buys them anymore because all of that information is available online. For free. Whenever you want it.
Not to mention that video is usually a better format for a guide than a written book that can become outdated after one small update to the game.

I don’t think it really matters if there were game guides for past games, they can drop support for it whenever they see fit.
End of the day is it worth pouring money, resources and time into a very old, outdated and dying form of media, I’d guess probably not.

To address your further comments, there isn’t a Legendary Edition but delegate merchandise like stairs have been on sale for months now, a new one even came out recently. Feel free to buy one if you want it - they won’t be coming with any edition of
f the game though. The option to buy it is still there regardless.

As for the Halo Infinite console. That’s a limited edition product. The supply chain issues are global and effect more than just consoles. Consoles won’t be back in full supply until at least late 2022 or 2023 at this rate, by that time the Halo Infinite Series X won’t be available. I can’t even see it being available past launch.
Essentially rendering the argument that you can’t get hands on a limited edition console until the chip shortage is sorted kind of irrelevant to be honest. Console supplies are going to be in short supply and high demand all of next year too.

They become a really interesting time capsule. Printed before a game’s release, they even have some information that never makes it into the final game.
I do miss them. Some of the Prima guides were really special.

All the previous Halo games had a game guide because Prima were making game guides. Now Prima doesn’t print guides anymore, they were shutting down in 2019, and even though they were saved through an acquisition, the print operation closed because it bled money. As cool as guides were, there isn’t a market for them anymore, it’s not a mystery at all.
