there are 5 types of spartans in the halo universe here is a list.
SPARTAN-I
Spartan 1.1
SPARTAN-II
SPARTAN-III
SPARTAN-IV
the S-I’s are what started it all they do have tags like all the future spartans for example ORION candidate 047 (would be a massive coinsidents if johnsons was 117). alot is known about the S-I’s but theres not realy any images or footage of them except for seing johnson in any halo game.
the 1.1’s are one of the most mysteriouse of them all to be honest they have only appeared in one halo product call halo i love bees. it is possible one day these spartans will be non cannon but no body is doing anything about that so they have been considered cannon until they decide. but the 1.1s wanted to make their own small army called spartan 1.1and take the fight to the covenant but the covies came to earth befor they could go and fight them but i beleave the 1.1s were still involved on the battel for earth. they had alot of equiptment there in sperate places thye could of had a back up plan. also they do not have tags unless the spartan 1.1 faction gave them numbers but then their would only be ten for example Kevin-001.
the S-II’s i think we know everything about them except the ones that are truly MIA were did they go and will they ever be found.
S-III’s about the same as the S-II’s we know alot but then again they have these secret teams head hunters and the other teams like noble was their anything inbetween also they were offered to join the S-IV’s but it was never confirmed if they wanted to do it or not.
S-IV’s new to the spartan program some of them were activated by 2553 nothing is known about them at all except the S-III’s were offered to join and it was going to work similer to the S-I’s.
Spartans are pretty important to the halo universe and there is alot of mysteries and secrets about them that we do not know about and im wondering will we get to know these secrets any time soon who knows any of them could appear in the next book, comic, or even game.
