So during another topic I had the oppurtunity to read through the Halo 3 Terminals and I came across something I don’t remember ever hearing about.

So what it seems to me is that a Forerunner exploration group found a planet that was devoid of sentient species yet was capable of supporting life. And there was also a section that had an area with no life at all.
What could this planet be? Was this the first Planet the Flood hit? Is this just filler for the terminals? Is there an actual answer somewhere that someone knows about? Theories?
The reason that the Forerunners would be interested in this planet would either be because of its potential for colonization/resources or just scientific curiosity.
The reason a survey team went missing is likely because of the Forerunners who were actually living on the planet were trying to keep their presence a secret.

Waypoint is being odd, i just posted this.
The planet is called “Seaward” and was the first location the flood arrived from outside of the galaxy. They were already appearing on recolonized worlds at this point. The Survey team went missing because the flood got to them. The planet was off the grid (like onyx to the unsc) and only the rich forerunners lived there in a rural lifestyle. nobody knew about this place hence the survey team showing up.
