I watched a showcase for Nornfang, and every time the guy switches to that weapon, he starts looking like he’s burning. I thought it might be an overshield at first but it didn’t seem to effect his shields at all, except they recharged faster, but that was probably some armor mod loadout thing. Does the fire do anything, or is it just decoration?

It’s damage boost.
Nornfang grants damage boost; where as all other mythic items give speed boost; expect Phophets’ Bane which give slight speed. Bust and active camo.
I have the certification for the Nornfang so I will give this a try tonight. My guess is that since the rifle itself does more damage and actually keeps your radar up when zoomed, it might be like a Damage Boost powerup when Nornfang is equipped, hence why it looks like he is on fire.
