My xbox shuts down Because of halo 3????

So i just wanted to play halo 3 infection because I have not played halo 3 infection in A While And it has happend TWICE IN A ROW

And I feel like its halo 3 only. While I dint like halo 3 i just wanted to play halo 3 infection for a bit before I got back to what I was doing

And it not just Infection I was in the middle of a competitive game and I got Cold War’d (Game turning off your console) Is there something wrong with the game because I played a game of halo 4 and nope it was fine

I would like to know the Issue Please

I have heard that disabling skins can fix this problem.

I’ve experienced H3 crashing during a match way more often recently than it ever has before, also it would crash when I would try to forge a map in H3 or play a custom game on it, it doesn’t happen all the time but to much for me to want to play H3

I crashed out of two Ranked Halo 3 games in a row the other night, but then I was able to load the 3rd attempt. (After waiting for the soft-ban to end)

It would be great if 343i or Microsoft would make an announcement about this ongoing issue, it happens way too often to far too many players every single day to be user error.

Ah, thought the game was just crashing more for me more, maybe that’s the culprit to having so many uneven teamed matches lately, I thought it was because we were combined with an unreliable PC userbase X’D

I just dropped out of my first firefight game, with 10 seconds left in the bonus round. The game freezes with the most annoying ERRRRRRRRRR sound and then Bam, straight to the dashboard. I have been playing firefight exclusively for the past 24 hours because this crash error didn’t happen in it at all, versus twice a day minimum in matchmaking. But here we are.

What is causing this?!? And can it be dealt with sooner than later please? This is ridiculous.

I’m also here because my Xbox One crashes when I start online Halo 3 games. I guess I will disable skins and see if it helps. :frowning:

I’ve gotten this also, but only on Big Team Battle matches. The worst part is that it counts as “leaving the match early” and I’m banned from matchmaking for an hour even though it wasn’t my fault! It’s very strange and specific, and I hope 343 fixes this soon.

Quick dumb question though
Why is halo 3 the fan favorite and why do so many people like it
I can’t see to find my soft spot for halo 3 because I just dint like it
Can i have a reasonable explanation without the Nostalgia goggles on

Nostagia set aside… I know halo 3 match making better than all others. This means I have more fun when I play it. I know what to expect and understand the maps, spawns and power weapon placements. I could learn those things in the other games but I do not get the same experience as I do in Halo 3. This is just my opinion of course

My console just crashed because of H3 again. No game has ever crashed by xbox before, but recently H3 does it all the time. At least once per day it happens. It’s not even just that the game crashes. It crashes the system and it has to be hard rebooted.

There’s really no reason that a 14-year-old game should do that to a modern console. But my guess is that it’s not going to be fixed any time soon.

Halo CE Crashes my console from time to time in addition to Halo 3. So it may not be exclusive to any one game.

My guess is an OS issue like CE was as well.

I have to agree on this, I’ve noticed it to that the Halo 3 Armor & Weapons have been causing a lot of issues with Crashing & game freezing randomly in Halo 3, it was never a issue for me until this Season, it also ties with CE as well so I do think skins are causing a crashing error

Its the new meshes and textures introduced through the latest season. Having too many players in a match wearing new skins causes the game to loose framerates.

Yep, as far as I can tell weapon skins will eventually crash your box. Great job 343
Love playing with my friends who just got MCC on PC just to have my box crash because 343 can’t port a 15 year old game correctly ( or adding things that no one wanted or the game needed )

It’s happened to me like 5 times since the game was updated. I did not find a common factor, today it happened to me in my first H3 game but a week ago it happened to me after being addicted to the game for 2 hours. I have an Xbox One Fat. I hope 343 fixes this error, it is annoying and also a bit scary xd

Just happened twice in a row to me. Started playing a match on Halo 3, then it freezes and shuts down my xbox.

yep, happened to me too. Froze right after the match stated. Rewarded with a nice 15 min ban. Thanks 343 for ruining a pretty damn good game.

I just want to let everyone know that my Xbox has been crashing to the dashboard when playing Halo Master Chief collection not just in Halo 3 all the Halo games and also it’s been hard shutting down my Xbox and all the Halo games not just the Halo 3 like people are saying but it happens more often in Halo 3
