Now this could just not matter cos 343 might go in this direction (which obviously I hope so) but I have a worry about future cosmetics when Halo Infinite is finally dropped.
I’m worried that Cosmetics later down the line in Halo Infinite’s life cycle will become more and more wacky and weird so to speak. I personally don’t want this to happen because I don’t want to walk around and people looking like they are from something completely different… I am fine with Armours such as the Samurai Armour as it looks cool but to me doesn’t go out of its way to look absolutely mad, it keeps within the boundaries of the Halo designs and respects it. Armours that are like this are completely fine to me and would make want to see more. But if we get something like a Call Of Duty cosmetic system where it gets weirder as the game goes on then that is what worries me (And I honestly do not like comparing Halo to Cod because of how much of a different Beast Halo is to Cod)
I also want to stress that if this will happen I can tolerate it for the most part but it is just a concern of mine.

It’s inevitable . COD gets wacky within a year of release halo is planning 4 battlepasses a year for 10 years .so if it’s 100 levels per pass that’s around 4000 seperate items over the games course.
Even if they manage to stay on course look at h5 lack of inspiration across all the armor butca sekevt few .it remains to be seen but I share your concerns and when you consider they need to sell battlepasses I can’t see how they can really keep it overly fresh or interesting over time

Unfortunately I have to agree with the inevitability. However I think it will take awhile till Halo gets there. As Armours cores let’s us have the possibility of having armour from previous games. Such as what is happening with Heroes of Reach. So even if it inevitable I can’t see it being pushed till later on in the lifecycle. And the fact that this game is going to be going on for the next 10. The upgrade in armour may appear instead. If there is a possibility that the Halo Infnite campaign will continue then it could spawn new Armours down the years into the 2560s in the cannon. And with A Spartan Ops style story that will be within the multiplayer gives possibility for more ‘normal’ style Halo Armour. So while this game isn’t even out the fact is there is a possibility that it is inevitable. While it’s possible it isn’t so really to me we can only hope
It’ll happen, who knows how long it will take. Probably not too long as you can only make so many armour combinations without them being wacky and looking alike. Plus the wackier and crazier ones sell better. People want to stand out. 343 knows this as this is the case with every game with the a similar system.
It will happen and it will probably be from day one. You’ll get the items from battle passes, but there will be a store packed with other content. Expect crossovers too, just like Gears 5 had. You’ll also have all the seasonal cosmetics like Xmas, Halloween, Valentine’s, Easter etc… Then there will be all the charms and probably more. But it’s ok, it’s cosmetic only and won’t affect gameplay
As always, I hope I’m wrong, but I see it happening.
I think the samurai armor that was revealed is about as far as it should ever go. Hayabusa was samurai esque, but it still looked like something from in universe all the while this new samurai armor doesn’t even try to fit in. I just hope these “non-canon” armors don’t try to push the line any further. If it absolutely must cross the line and be wacky there should be a toggle that makes players wearing non-canon armor look like they’re wearing default on your screen only.
I have the same fears. I hope the samurai armour is as unrealistic as they get. I’m hoping that there will be an option to turn of player cosmetics like MCC has so that if it does get too crazy, you can just turn it off.
Cod:MW19 started out good and turned complete bonkers towards the end. I’m split between what to expect.
On one hand I don’t expect the current team to overhaul their current style since they worked so hard to get it back to the “classic”-esque style.
Then again as time passes and battlepasses need to be filled with content we might get some other design people at 343i who don’t keep themselves to the current style just for diversity. Armour effects are already pushing my prefered bounds who knows what else they can come up with that makes “funny” (read annoying) noises and effects.
We can only hope I guess.

I’m sure they will make it like the MCC where you can toggle the customizations so I doubt it will be that much of an issue. As for me I’ve always stuck with the basic Mark IV, V, VI armor. So I won’t really be concerned with what they drop for customizations. Some off the wall content could enhance the Forge/Custom game side of the game.
It’s true that skins that differ too much from the lore would be strange. Although we already had them on Halo 5 and it doesn’t bother… maybe 343 should opt for an option to disable non-lore skins?

They have already confirmed that non-lore skins will come via “fracture” events like the samurai armour is considered that.
In terms of how whacky it will get, who knows? I feel like in Halo 3 it was easy to tell people’s helmets apart during the game, but in Halo 5 due to the extreme detail on the helmet and speed of the game I actually find it extremely hard to differentiate most of the helmets during gameplay. I feel like the armour coatings will actually be super helpful in identifying which players are which and for callouts to your team. Rainbow is one shot, red arm just grabbed camo. Then a few years down the line… the ninja turtle has sniper.
Yes we need seeker helmet in infinite.

God no.
Sadly, I can see this happening. If this game is truly going to be a 10 year plan, I can see it running out of steam roughly year 4 or 5. Hopefully it won’t though
Between all the past Halo’s there is a lot of armors that 343 can remaster for Halo Infinite as we have seen already, so hopefully that can bring in a long stream of armors that fit the Halo aesthetic very well. The newest armor set for 343 to showcase is the Yoroi which samurais do not fit the space military theme, but 343 did very well making fit the Halo aesthetic and I think is very much accepted, just like Hayabusa was. So that does give some hope they will continue in that direction creating “out of place” armors that still look Halo.
As well Halo 5 has shown that a lot of weapon skins can be made per season, but few armors in terms of what was given in Halo 5, so armor coatings may be more leaning to that wacky cosmetics, which I prefer over entire armors looking ridiculous.

When I was talking about non-lore armor, I was mostly talking about armor like the Athlon [Champion] or the Challenger with the Halo Esport League logo ^^ Although I don’t mind the armor in itself, I actually like it! Some people however may not like it, that’s why I put a hypothesis on the creation of an option to please everyone, although it’s complex. ^^ Armor like the Yoroi works for me completely, we already had the Hayabusa and the Shinobi in a similar style and it never really bothered the players. Its armors can be integrated in a lore logic (created by an Asian company or something like that ^^)
This is the dark side of F2P battle passes. To make sales, the Devs need to up the cosmetics constantly. Unfortunately often the immersion suffers as a result. I hope armor sets stay at least somewhat grounded. It was already confirmed that the regular season pass will stay lore-friendly, but there will also be events in which more whacky armor can be unlocked. Yoroi is the first.
I really don’t want the wacky stuff like what happened with COD.
In saying that, I don’t mind some interesting stuff like that, but like, nothing insanely over the top. if they do add stuff, like one or two things, as opposed to a whole season of wacky things.
The way MCC is now is like the perfect point for me. the wackiest thing I have seen is the Mister chief helmet and that’s perfect to me, it’s silly but not over the top
