Don’t be a quitter! Agree? Disagree?
Nothing is more frustrating. It happens far too often! Be a SPARTAN, not a quitter!

First of all, relax.
Second, there is some server problems for a lot of people recently, so it is more likely that people actually disconnect rather than leave.
Thirdly… Relax.

Hey Fury, I appreciate your concern. I’m closing in on 10 days of arena logged, and have noticed quitting the whole ride. Not too often, but I’d say every 1 of 5 matches if I’m searching solo somebody on my team drops. It could be servers, sure, but I highly doubt it in most cases. Why? Because as soon as we are down by 10+ kills the player drops.
I finally decided to make a rant and get it off my chest yesterday. The dude on our team quit when we were down 21-10. We ended up coming back and nearly winning. It was tied 40 all and we lost by a few kills. Had he stuck it out, the outcome may have been different.
Quitting in life won’t get you anywhere. Perhaps I’m taking this too seriously, but then again, it’s ranked matchmaking. There are plenty of other great playlist where quitting won’t necessarily impact others.
You’re out of uniform Spartan, secure that chest piece.

Hah! That gave me a good laugh. I cracked up when I reviewed the footage and saw it swaying every time I became animated. Next set of armor will definitely be more accessible to strapping on solo. I sure could use a J.A.R.V.I.S.!

Haha good luck on Mark II. Looks bad -Yoink- though. Son, this is MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor not a sports bra!
I don’t agree with a permaban, but I run into the exact same problem just about as often. Obviously I lose the majority of the time that this happens, but my proudest game was a 2 v 4 comeback where I just about single handedly brought my team back from a 10 kill deficit to win 43-41. But outside of that one game, quitters have been the bane of my existence.

Love the video and your enthusiasm and humour! Also, I totally agree with you. Let’s see if the community can match the tenacity of the Master Chief!

First of all, quitters make multi-player suck since CSR is based on wins and having someone quit on your team pretty much puts you into a loss.
Second, why is there a server disconnect the second your team is down and losing, rarely if ever have a server issue when a team is up 10+ in slayer? Hmmmmm…
Third…quitters make multi-player suck.
Quitters… Quitters everywhere.… Quick note: I haven’t tried to compete, I tried to end the game as fast as possible without quitting myself.
Edit1: I also gave them all their first perfection medal

Permaban may be a bit harsh, but it’s getting ridiculous. I’d say a several day ban from all ranked playlist would be fair though, along with that personal apology letter to their parents. I feel your pain!!

Hey Gratz, thank you! COPY THAT! We must stand together!

Ahh! That’s the worst scenario right there man… Props on sticking it out! Nothing is more frustrating than a 1v4. #quittersareweak
I hate quitters too, but sometimes is because of a problem beyond people’s control. If is not because of that yeah F&^% you

COPY THAT! Unless the Master Chief is calling you for a critical mission, quitting shall not happen! Dinner can wait! Hanging up the laundry can wait!

It seems that some people live in areas where their connection to the Azure servers is more unstable than it should be, but I still don’t think that it is “more likely that people actually disconnect rather than leave.” There are way too many occasions when competitors will disappear at a time that is simply too much of a coincidence: immediately after their opponents execute a triple-cap in Warzone, playing March on Stormbreak right after the other team kills Commander Lochagos, and in a one-sided 4v4 Slayer match it is almost always someone from the losing team that exits the game.
It’s unfortunate, but when it comes to Spartans disappearing in the middle of the game I am rather certain that rage-quitting angst outweighs the flaky servers.
What if my game crashed? pray for xbox

Exactly! That’s what gets me the most. We begin losing and then BOOM, “player left”. It’s frustrating. Just stick it out and never give up! We’ve all had some epic comebacks before. That video was made right after I nearly came back with my other two players and won. Had the dude stuck it out and not quit (when we were down 12) we could have won! We retook map control/power weapons… I’d say 9.5 times out of 10 it’s them quitting and not being disconnected.

I’m sure there are many variables, but with me being at nearly 11 days of arena logged I have only been disconnected possibly 5 times? I’m working with 50 down 10 up. I’m sure location plays a factor too, but compared to TMCC, H5 runs pretty darn good on my end. In any case, I’ll try my best to cast an enchantment spell on all Xbox Ones across the galaxy.
How you say…Take american chill pill
Loved the video. You’re like a superhero dude. LOL I think the permaban part was indeed harsh, and probably tongue in cheek on your part. A big part of the problem is that there are two types of players. The first type think “it’s just a video game” and really just goof around, don’t ever get sweaty, and quit at a pin drop. The second type are more serious, look at rank and stats a lot and are always trying to be the best. 343 FOR SURE has aimed this game at the second type of player, but at the same time failed to support them in game. There’s no place for the first type of player to go. so they mix with the second type. There really aren’t any mirrored social lists and it’s hard to do well in most ranked lists without a team. 343 has made it a farming arena for HCS. Nothing wrong with that, but when you get the first type of players mixed in with the second it leads to a lot of salt. In any given Arena match on the same team you can have two 18 yr old try hards chanting “LET’S GO!” as the game loads and two 10 yr old casuals who suddenly both quit because it’s dinner time, their losing or whatever. Just doesn’t work and it happens a lot. There are multiple issues that contribute to quitting. Disconnects are a big problem and extreme lag in game is also. Seriously unbalanced matches and the rank system itself also contribute, as does poor map rotation. But when it comes down to it your original message will do the most to fix the problem: “DON’T QUIT!”. I’ve come down hard on 343 for not trying some different approaches to stem the quitting epidemic, or separate them from the rest os the community, but sometimes I feel their frustration, in that, even if the game was perfect, quitters would still quit.
If a team mate quits at the start of the game (ranked playlists only) then 343 should consider not dropping the csr in case of a loss, and of course rewarding more csr points in case of a win. Also quitter should be punished by losing req points. THAT would reduce quitting to server or connection problems only.
