I think 343i should try making game that doesn’t have sprint in it to begin with then try balancing the game OG Halo Style. Add as many other features as you want like Ground Pound or powerups but balance them in a game without sprint.
Mobility can make or break a game. 343i needs to find the medium.
I’m pretty neutral on if sprint should be in Halo or not. I just want to play a really -Yoink- game with a story to hoot about. Personally if i were in control i’d just make it so if players ran for awhile without taking engaging in any conflict they would get a movement speed buff and when they fired their gun, swung a fist or jumped in a vehicle they would lose it.
But above that I just recommend 343i try to balance a game without sprint and see how that goes for them.

Also disabling them to run away. Because the problem is if your teammates are far away, to cach up, you need to sprint, or in campaign when running from one objective to the other, that sounds like a very good idea, and would maybe shut up whiny people, but people will complain anyway…

Just seems like those in favor of sprint simply don’t want to fight for it. Though that’s fair seeing as it’s already handed to them.

How 343i will acknowledge sprint usage is a daunting thought but you’re right IMO. No one fights for a battle already won. (In literal sense, not tactical.)

true true. Another person that says he has no opinon about sprint in halo but then states not even sentences ago that it needs to go

What,I never said it needs to go. I was saying that 343i should try to understand balancing a game without sprint rather than just balancing around it as they’ve since their creation.
Its more along the lines of saying try something different.

In an echo chamber, no it doesn’t tell much at all.

I wouldn’t see the point because you could just set movement speed to that by default.
I agree that the game should be tested around OG Halo mechanics.

The “move for a while and then gain an increase in movement speed until you shoot, throw a grenade, melee, or get shot at” mechanic is an awesome idea. I would support this because it doesn’t affect weapon readiness, and the increased movement speed would go away when you are engaged in combat.
