My three RESPECTFUL OPINIONS to improve Halo

First things first. You’re here, meaning you are open to personal opinions, therefore, you sir or madam, are awesome.

Anyway, my only issues with the game thus far can be (thankfully) briefly listed and simple to implement, as follows:

1.)Take out the Covenant and Forerunner weapons from loadouts. All of it, please. Story wise, I prefer the UNSC deploying its forces with UNSC tech, not salvaged alien goodies. Just has a better favor all in all. MP-wise, The only reason people seem to give a damn about the Boltshot is it is a starter weapon capable of a one shot KO. Most of the issues in BTB are whereas people spam plasmas grenades and overcharged plasma pistol rounds at absolutely everything. If they were to spawn on map, and at fairly limited number so everyone doesn’t have one, vehicles will survive quite a bit longer, which takes me to number 2…

2.) Improve vehicle durability. I shouldn’t need the wheelman perk to survive a few mags from small arms fire. Even then, I find the vehicles getting noticeable damage from not very much at all. (In my personal opinion, the wheelman perk should increase turning performance, maneuverability, etc, rather than somehow adding a new layer of tin foil armor to my warthog. The emp resist is quite useful however.)

3.) Get rid of ordnance drops. In spartan ops, a pickable ordnance drop when and where you need it would be damn useful and realistic. However, in MP, I prefer wrestling with my opponents for the good stuff. People dont rush for the laser on the middle hill on Ragnarok anymore. And why would they? they’ll get their own later anyway. But when EVERYONE has a laser, good lord have mercy on my warthog’s young soul.

Hmmm… I think that is about it. Besides some balancing for the AAs and weapons, I think we’re good. I would like it if people would use their mics, but I don’t think that is something any developer can make happen.

Thanks for poking your head in and checking out what this guy has to say. Chow!

EDIT: none of this happened yet, but to be safe, If I find anything, and I mean ANYTHING, with an offensive barb toward anyone, I’ll report it. I wanna keep this clean. thank you all for your understanding.

  1. Agreed
  2. Agreed
  3. agree on so many levels

Well said, and I can’t fault your reasoning. My thoughts:

  1. I like variety so I’d prefer to keep the option for other weapons. What about UNSC/ForeRunner/Covie gametypes, where the loadouts are pre-determined? Honestly though, once I’m done with my Weapons Mastery Commendation I’ll probably go back to my trusty old human weapons in my loadout…

  2. Hallelujah, amen!

  3. I prefer PO over MO… I just think this implementation of PO is way OP (pardon the acronyms!) 343i could double the # of points to earn a drop and I’d still be happy. Or they could make deaths negatively affect the ordinance meter and I’d be happy. Or, just thought of this… what if PO is limited to certain perks/weapons while the heavy duty ones (splaser, incineration cannon, binary, etc) are kept to the map?

Thanks for sharing yo.

1-75 percent agreed:

Why?
even though it somtimes makes since for the UNSC forces to be deployed with UNSC weapons multiplayer wise, most of the start guns wern’t exactly fun or exciting weapons to start with,2 in particular I disklike because of their slow rate of fire,I’d only be ok with this so long as I can spawn with my AR,which was the only starter weapon I liked

2-I agree,we need stronger vehicles.

3-Ordinances can stay or go,I don’t really care.

  1. Disagree
  2. Agree
  3. Disagree

DING DING DING! you just solved Personal Ordnance for all! That is how is should be, end of story. Everyone and their mother should not have a Rocket launcher or Spartan Laser at all effin times. And OP I agree on absolutely everything you said. I actually like your idea of UNSC weapons only too “_” But I especially agree on vehicles, currently ruined Halo for me. I am a vehicle man, it seperates Halo from the rest. No one will even get in my Warthog anymore :frowning:

Meh, This is probably something for another time, but I want a human sword, preferably a katana, simply because I’m the most familiar with that specific type of blade. My reasoning for this is I am TIRED of running from spec op elites with EN swords and would love to stand firm and fight. I don’t care if I had to do witchcraft to do it.

But, as game developer (Novice, sure, but I’m getting there) I understand the issues with making another sword. It cannot be exactly like the EN sword thanks to redundancy. Looking at the EN sword (and Grav Hammer), I noticed it has multiple functions with the RB and RT buttons. So this got me thinking.

What if we made a blade and Saya (Japanese for “sheath”) made from the same alloy as a hunter’s shield, augmented with a plasma edge. that way, it can handle clashes with the classic EN sword while still being able to kill armored spartans and elites story wise. Gameplay Wise, one button could be used for attacking normally, but the other would take a rather strange twist: blocking. Blocking would be limited to melee attacks of course, so no, you can’t go blocking the bullets of that pesky sniper, but it would make for some interesting bouts up close. It also changes the role and strategy. The classic EN blade would be an Offencive melee while the human sword, lets just make it a katana, is defensive. Lacking the lunge of the EN blade, you would need to think twice before rushing your target with a katana.

Eh? Eh? What do ya guy’s think? (Now I’m just being an Idiot, but -Yoink- it, it’s funner over here)

Interesting. What’s your reasoning here? =]
