My thoughts on Warzone Firefight

Hey guys, this is my first post to these forums and this account is relatively new but I am a long time fan and player of Halo :slight_smile: I would just like to share my thoughts on Warzone Firefight and see if anyone agrees with me.

I am very happy to see Firefight return, however I think the experience could be enhanced in a few ways. Currently it feels very competitive. In previous games Firefight feels like a cooperative survival mode, but Warzone Firefight feels like everyone is competing against each other for kills. I think this stems from the fact that there are so many players on the map at one time, so everyone feels rushed to claim as any kills for themselves before all the enemies are gone. Perhaps if the number was reduced to four, like in the previous games, and the difficulty of the enemies is lessened slightly to accommodate this, Firefight will again feel like a cooperative survival mode. I also think having all these objectives contributes towards this, as everyone races against each other to score the Legendary or Mythic takedown. Perhaps if it weren’t so much about objectives and more about surviving waves it could make the game feel more cooperative and give everyone a more equal chance at scoring points.

Another thing, and I know it’s the beta so this may be rendered invalid, but I think the maps shouldn’t just be the regular warzone maps, as these maps are not designed with firefight in mind. Maps specifically designed for the game mode would make the experience much smoother. As it stands, players are dying and respawning on the opposite side of the map from the enemies. Maps tailored towards firefight should also have spawn zones in my opinion which are not too far from the action but protected.

That’s my personal feedback on Warzone firefight, I hope that 343 sees this and considers my suggestions :slight_smile:

This is exactly how warzone firefight works. It isn’t that it’s a bad perspective on the firefight experience - it’s just that it isn’t mine. Or apparently yours. Reducing the player count to four, though, wouldn’t solve the problem for me. Having three other guys trash me with their insane speed and accuracy is no better than having seven guys trash me with their speed and accuracy. In Reach I could play firefight with a squad, or I could play score attack all on my own. I liked being able to switch between them depending on my mood, but I mostly played score attack for exactly the reasons you listed above. I sure wish that was an option again.

C’mon, 343. SOLO FIREFIGHT, please.
