My Thoughts On The Halo Infinite Game Play Reveal.

I apologize if this is supposed to be in a larger forum thread but I couldn’t find it.
Ok, where to begin? I want to start off by saying that I’ve been a Halo fan for my whole life. My brother and I bonded over every one of the games going back to Combat Evolved and every release going forward, so with that being said, the Halo series has a special place in my heart and was a big part of my childhood. I won’t lie, I was a bit disappointed with Halo 4 and 5, not from a story standpoint, but from a game play standpoint. I wasn’t a big fan of all the advanced movement mechanics and the art style changes, so when I found out that Halo Infinite was going back to Halo’s roots, I was beyond excited.

With that being said, I should get onto my thoughts about the reveal. Like many people, I was a little concerned about the art style and the visuals. Everything looked a little cartoonish and plastic like, and was confused as to why it looked like that. Now knowing that we were seeing game play of an earlier build, it took a little bit of that concern away, although we don’t know exactly how old the build was, I’m hoping by the time of launch they can make the final product look drastically better.

Game play wise, it looked similar to the Halo I remember. I don’t really mind the sprint mechanic that much as long as it’s done right. I wasn’t a fan of people using it to fly across the maps in Halo 4 and 5. The addition of the grapple hook is interesting, especially given the open world aspect of the campaign. Speaking of the campaign, I hope it’s still a linear story line like the other games except in an open world aspect. I really hope it’s not just another “Far Cry” fetch quest story line where it’s just “go from point A to point B” or 'take down this tower, and then take down that one."

Last but not least, I want to talk about the orange octagons that pop up on your screen when your shield is recharging. I’m not a fan or it, I can see it becoming a big distraction from other aspects of the game, for example, in PvP when your constantly getting shot by other players, you’re just going to be potentially blinded by the orange octagons popping up on your screen.

That was pretty much all my thoughts. Thanks for reading.
