My thoughts on the Dr. Disrespect controversy

Recently, Dr. Disrespect reviewed the campaign overview trailer. In which he began to diminish the game with the words " I see an 11, 12, 13 year old demographic here, maybe 14, 15" before then going on a rant about how Halo Infinite will not survive without a Battle Royale. I heavily disagree with this.

If we take a look at twitch, and see what is currently trending, we will see ( at the time of me uploading this) GTA, Minecraft, LoL, CSGO, and FIFA. BR’s such as Warzone, Fortnite, And Apex, are averaging 90-60k views. however CSGO-An Arena shooter- is at 178k.

Dr Disrespect says the game will not survive and such but that is not the truth. The truth is, He won’t survive if he streams it. The more tech advanced and tech inclusive the world gets, the lower the age of our crowd gets. And currently, the little ones are obsessed with Battle Royales such as Apex, Warzone, and Fortnite. But only when there are updates to the games.

Dr Disrespect is a content creator that only creates content on what is considered popular, in fact, most YouTubers are that way because it is a solid way of staying relevant. During the Halo drought, we saw members of our community like HiddenXperia go into SCP and even starting his own cooking channel. (by the way that Moa Burger looked beautiful)

Battle Royales struggle in between updates because it is a repetitive loop. You land, grab a weapon, scavenge, fight, win or die. Its such a brain-dead and obvious loop that Fortnite made it a part of its Canon!

However, Arena games don’t struggle from this as much. Updates are more frequent, gameplay is quicker and more intense and Enemies are always varied.

So will Halo Infinite survive without a Battle Royale? Most likely. Will Dr. Disrespect? Most likely not

I saw an edited video of the face of the youtuber mentioned in the body of the heretical covenant in the cinematic of Halo 2, I was amused, the truth, things as they are. But I sincerely think that that youtuber is more focused on battle royale, or am I wrong?. As you mention if he streams Infinite, his channel is the one that’s going to die, not the game. I think you want to justify throwing hate to the game just because your favorite mode is not

To be clear I love this game. I was pointing out that Dr Disrespect says the game is old and wont work in the modern market.

Honestly I’m not getting the hype for this game, but this random youtuber gets too much credit.

Best to just ignore him and move on. Youtubers ride on anger.

the only people who are crying for a BR mode to be in are streamers whose income depends on it. Lets not pretend its about Halo Infinite, or multiplayer longevity. Its about popular streamers not being able to capitalize a popular release within their own audience.

I think most of us agree Dr what’s his name doesn’t know much about Halo

Dr. Disrespect has been seen in the past throwing shade at Halo Infinite, almost like it’s an immediate reaction. Genuinely? I think he’ s “picked a side”. We’ve seen him playing alot of Battle Royale games, he thrives on it and his fanbase follows that. I’ve even seen him on Call of Duty commercials too. So it makes sense that he’d be bashing Halo Infinite, if it’s main competitors are paying him like they are. Not to say that he is being paid to bash it, but he’s getting paid by the competition and he wants it to stay that way.

This isn’t really a discussion that needs to be had on this forum. There are no BR games or modes in development right now, feel free to use any existing threads about Battle Royale
