My thoughts on the current Halo Infinite Multiplayer (Console)

So I’ve played halo for a good day and half and thought I’d give my thoughts and hopefully give opinions that would help Halo:Infinite in the future.

Pros:
The weapon & vehicle sandbox feels superb and nearly every weapon feels satisfying and not overly too powerful than one another

The designs of the armor are perhaps the best looking so far, especially with the Heros of reach armor sets

Soundtrack is no doubt a good nostalgia hit and the newer songs are pretty good as well!

For the beta, there’s a ok amount of modes so it’s not too dull with constant slayer

The academy is a good assistant to help new halo players get into the basics

Cons:
Certain weapons like the Pulse Carbine seem to struggle to compete with the other weapons in the sandbox

Certain challenges are bugged and attempting to do the more painful ones (Like 3 pulse carbine kills or snipe a driver moving) can be very irritating

As much as I like to welcome crossplay to halo, it really does uneven the fairness against the players

The price for the currency are too overprice for what you’re paying for £80 max tokens can buy you the big bundle, +2 armor sets in the store

The lay out of the menu and lobbies are a bit of mess but thats my opinion and I find it weird you’re unable to customize as you wait

The frags seriously need to be toned down as it feels like a mine field and have several cases of respawning to take damage from explosions

The Battle Pass progression is a big joke, requiring 10 weekly challenges to complete to simply level up once. pretty much URGING players to pay IRL money to skip the tedious grind. Players should be able to level up 10+ per day, not just 1/3

There’s no types of modes so you gotta rely on luck to get a certain mode if you required to do a challenge

But in all, the game is fun! depending on whom you match with but some key things I’d like to see 343i add / change:

  • Add a crossplay settings for Social
  • Add seperate playlist for the current modes (Social / Rank / BTB) so players can choose a specific mode
  • Reduce either the grenade’s damage or blast radius so it’s not just an insta win
  • Reduce shop’s currency / add more currency to the bundles so players don’t feel ripped off
  • Severaly increase XP gained from completing challenges & add a completion XP so players aren’t forced to handicap themselves to level up

Halo can be a really great game if 343 are able to improve on the current build to give players more of a casual game instead of a sweat-fest galore every match.
And even though “We play for the game, not cosmetic” statement is true, you gotta understand players love to express their characters and make their own universe character (Heck 343i said this themselves) but we’re unable to do that if 343i are just gonna leave those people to painfully grind 24/7 to unlock everything.
