My thoughts on the community forge playlist

I think the best map by far is Simplex(Simplex + CTF = <3). Shutout would be great for Koth and Oddball, but Slayer often ends up a little too “campy” for me. Scythe and Relay are fine. The rest I don’t really like at all.

Ps. I think the Capture the flag-playlist should also use the new CTF settings since they feel more competitive and make the matches last longer. CTF on Simplex is the best Halo 4 experience I’ve had so far.

What do you guys think about the forge playlist?

I have to agree, Simplex plays probably the best, I’ve had some really competitive matches in the past on that map.
As for the other maps I find that Scythe and Relay both run really well in Slayer although they don’t keep mr on the edge of my seat like Simplex.
The others which I can’t remember the names of just aren’t for me… They’re alright for Slayer and would be alright if added to the playlist I just don’t really get a lot of enjoyment out of them.

I’ve only played 4 matches in it because every match I’ve played has had the worst connections, and I truly don’t believe it’s me because the second I go into a different playlist I have silky smooth gameplay.

1st match - Laggy when I get to play, people connecting and disconnecting all the time… oh yeah and I joined mid-game and it was SWAT, the single worst game mode in Halo.

2nd Match - Play match for 3 minutes with a little bit of lag, everybody gets dropped out of the match after waiting in the starting game screen for 2 minutes.

3rd Match - This one was weird. I saw an enemy with a beam rifle cross match just standing still, doing nothing. I shoot him, pick up the beam rifle, (this match was actually lag free BTW) and literally the second I pick it up I disconnect from XBL altogether, and then reconnect 2 seconds later, play a match on Infinity Slayer.

4th Match - Managed to finish it, got kicked to the starting game screen about 3 times, gameplay was choppy.

And that’s why I’m not going into forge playlist again.

I had this same problem yesterday and it seems it was actually quite common since everyone on my friend list experienced horrible lag while playing the forge playlist. I haven’t yet had any big connection issues today, though.

ugly, laggy, unbalanced. bit like meself when i think about it !!!

Before I share my thoughts let me tell you that I’m working on the lightrifle commendation so my opinions may be a little different than the DMR and BR users out there, but here are my thoughts on the forge maps:

Simplex is fine. I still feel like it caters to the DMR users out there, but it’s a good symmetrical map.

Scythe is my favorite. I like the “four corners” feel to it

Shutout is also good as long as you stay away from top mid. I think it’s a good map for the lightrifle.

I hate Relay. It’s a cluster fudge of DMR’s everywhere.

Garrothe and Despair are also not very fun to me. Too many corners. I don’t know why they put needlers on this map, because you can never get enough needles in before they escape around a corner.
