my thoughts on The anniversary playlist

I would have preferred having no Spartan Abilities to play on these wonderfully recreated maps.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

I can understand how you feel wanting it to be even more nostalgic without having any abilities. I just think that was something they could have done but I’ve enjoyed the playlist.

I think no abilities would be better. Too many BS kills due to armor abilities on the classic maps. Plus bullet magnetism doesn’t help.

Also …removing the ordinance weapon markers would be nice so people don’t camp them the whole game. Takes away from the classic feel when you know when it’ll spawn.

Besides those gripes I love the playlist and I think it should be updated with more maps.

Least favorite playlist by far. Cool idea on paper, but crap when it’s put to use. Only ever won one game, carried my team every time. The spawns are bs, and the maps are just too simple.

they should just make a classic gametype thats as close as possible to everyghing in ce and force you to wear mark v armor, that would be cool.

This does not play remotely like the original CE. Too much bullet magnetism makes it WAY too easy to get a 3-shot. I played CE on MCC yesterday and it was much harder to get a 3-shot then it is in Halo 5. Also who the f*ck thought it was a good idea to add in Spartan abilities into a classic playlist. The map flow is awful due to the presence of sprint, ADS and all of the other Spartan abilities.

3 shot kills with pistol is cancer. Not to mention all the spawn killing.

I am surprised we haven’t got BTB maps from Halo CE.

I think its great for a few games but once I’ve played 3 or 4 I’m done with it for the day.

The maps are truly awesome but Halo 5 plays at a pace they were not meant for. Beaver Creek matches go by so fast it barely counts.

Overall I would hope they could on it and tweak some stuff so they can bring it out every now and then.

Honestly? The playlist got me to boot up Halo 5 again, and it’s been the most fun that I’ve had with the game since launch. It’s incredible how much of a difference it makes to play on some maps that are well designed and memorable. I could play Rat Race or Hang 'Em High all day and I would be happy!

Unfortunately, it also emphasizes how “meh” the developer maps are in Halo 5. There isn’t even one of them that domes close in quality to the ones in this playlist. So once the playlist is gone, I don’t know if I’ll play the game until something worthwhile comes along.

I think it’s great. It’s stupid, unbalanced fun, just like the original CE.

Completely agree. The map design here is fantastic, the Halo 5 maps just aren’t individual enough at all.

Loving the playlist, and I’m fine with the spartan abilities, thats how Halo 5 plays so should be how the playlist plays.

I just wish less of the Halo 5 maps took place in the same human warehouse. I mean in Warzone we’re literally fighting over three warehouses…

Having started playing Battlefield 1 it really puts the Arena and Warzone maps to shame in terms of how immersive and beautiful those maps are.
