My thoughts on mods in Halo Infinit

I believe a while back someone mentioned what if there were weapon attachments in Halo infinite like the ones in Doom I figured if there are they would work something like this let’s take the plasma rifle for example and I don’t mean the plasma repeater or storm rifle I am talking about the original plasma rifle from Halo 1 2 and 3

Attachment 1 would allow the plasma rifle to fire rapid fire but it would overheat quickly and be less accurate

Attachment 2 the plasma rifle would not overheat ask quickly and the plasma would last longer but the shots would be weaker

Attachment 3 this attachment would make the plasma rifle shots do more damage it would go through the plasma a little quicker and overheat a little easier not as fast the rapid fire attachment though

What do you all of this idea

In campaign and other PvE modes? Sure, I think attachments and such could make these modes more interesting and enjoyable.

PvP? Not a fan. I don’t like the idea of having player equipment behave differently in these modes. I believe player skill and map knowledge should matter above all else. Attachments end up creating extra variables and there will undoubtedly be a weapon/attachment combo that’s more OP than everything else.

Eh it’s a reasonable idea but I think I’d rather just keep it simple and every gun have one mode with a role. Once you start doing this kind of thing with so many weapons in the sandbox it kinda gets convoluted, even more than it currently already is.

The first mos is just the Brutu Plasma Rifle.

You don’t need mods. Just make a different gun.

I’m also bored with everything can be Customized. I just want to play an FPS. Not look at menus half the time like an RPG.

That would be fine only in forge and custom games but id prefer it simple and normal on matchmaking

What about the campaign

This, pretty much.

The REQs in Halo 5 were super cool for casual modes and custom games, but I don’t think they should be made available in Arena. The same applies to any potential weapon mods that may exist.

Sorry but I think thats a terrible idea. Halo needs to remain Halo, and that Idea sounds too much like all the other FPS out there.

No, mods don’t need to be in campaign

I agree with you. At least from the matchmaking/multiplayer side of things. Balancing issues would be rampant with an over saturation of features and add ons for basic weapons.

I don’t see an issue with them here and there.
