There is two things in reach I was not a fan of one was load outs. The reason for this is as good as the halo sandbox is, it does not seem useful enough for load outs. Starting weapons is all that is needed. The reason I say this is think of games like cod with its classes there is a lot of similar guns and no guns on map. Now think of halo there is 2 of a similar weapon if that and you can pick weapons up. Well this seems like it works in invasion its not really needed, the only reason load outs exist is because of amour abilities. With out load outs amour abilities are usable equipment. I could see having them in custom games but in matchmaking they are not needed.
Now for ranks both social and skilled rank have been a popular in halo games. Halo 2 and 3 had popular skilled rank and halo 3 and reach had popular casual rank. To me halo 3 was the most balanced of the two with about half the playlist being skilled ranked and social ranked. Now I am not saying that Halo 2 or 3s 1-50 is perfect and halo 4 should have the same version but an improved 1-50 would be nice with an xp social rank. I will say my problem with reach and gears of war 3 because they are both similar with ranks and commendations is that there is no skill needed just keep playing or boost and you will reach the highest rank. As well as play non online multiplayer modes to help you rank.
And I am using credit rank as the main rank in reach because arena is a failure. You know and I know it. Some of us might like it, but do you like the rank reset or division that you can only see in that playlist. Oh you going to say you can see it in our service record, you right in sub menu’s. Halo 3 was perfect in that I could be playing social and select you name and see your rank. Though I did not know what you got said rank in it usually did not matter as I checked xp. Yes xp I prefer this more to credits because I could tell some what skill off of it from games played. I loved it, halo 3 would show social, and ranked games with a total combined xp. So you would see there number rank and then this to get a better look into a player. Also whats nice with xp is you would lose it when you quit a game. Now I know double xp and action sack made this method more difficult but look at reach try telling me that you can tell all the players skill in a game. Most of the people do not play arena.
And while I dislike arena ranking methods and were rather have a set goal that I can see progress and take me a long time to get there, its not the ratings or the divisions fault. No its the lack of playlist and game types. Why, why is this, if any one says its because the ratings then this just shows you that this is can not be a fully skill ranked system for a halo game but just a playlist that would be in a halo 3 hardcore category. I do not know what bungie was thinking but I hope 343i at least makes halo 4 right in this regard.
By the way I can not tell if the title will be in all caps, I do not have caps on and it appears like that so ya. And I tried to space these out from 2 paragraphs to 4 so it would not seem like a wall. Also I apologize for any bad grammar.
