My thoughts on how you're all acting regarding this new info

I think both sides of this argument are pretty bad, but at the same time I’m glad the fans are blowing up like this. It might strike some fear into the eyes of 343 and make them realize just what their doing to Halo. I don’t mind the new progression system, Spartan Ops or the new AA’s. Mainly because those things can possibly be done correctly and work well, and I do have some faith in 343 to do that. The problems I mainly have are the instant re-spawns, random weapon spawns, and the join in progress. Those mechanics are the things I’m worried about and hope 343 ditches, because those are the things that have no place in the Halo franchise.

> OP just can’t handle people saying Halo 4 sounds a lot like COD… because it does.

So basicaly 90% of FPSs that have recently come out are just copies of Call of Duty?

> OP just can’t handle people saying Halo 4 sounds a lot like COD… because it does.

it might “sound” like CoD but we dont know if it is a copy yet. just wait till we get more information until we judge the game. we know barely anything about it. the only thing i am mad at 343 about is the fact that they love keeping us in the dark about halo 4 and only showing us little bits of info at a time.

> There is a difference between changing a game in a series so that it does not replicate its predecessor, and completely screwing core gameplay and destroying what a series is.

This ^ and halo is looking a lot like COD in space with Spartans like wtf is 343 doing…

As much as I love Halo, if the console FPS craze finally died the rest of gaming would flourish. It’s like platformers in the 90’s

> You guys: Oh no! 343 is actually letting Halo evolve? What? No! I want to pay for the same rehashed experience every 3 years like I have always been. Not to mention despite not playing the game yet I can say 100% for sure that none of this will work, solely on the fact that is is different.

> Seriously kids. Go to bed. When the game comes out and if these things don’t work out, THEN complain. But seriously Im pretty sure 343 knows that they’re doing. They have some ex-Bungie employees over there and know what makes Halo… Halo. I’ll place my faith in their judgement over the lot of you. Because you all sound like a bunch of whiny crybabies right now.

Call of Duty makes lots of money by releasing the same game over and over with new guns and maps.
BF3, new guns, maps and graphics
Halo 4 Screw everything we have built all our previous games on

Okay dude, don’t try saying that they are CoDifying Halo when you have so little idea about how these mechanics are going to work. CoD does not own sprinting and it doesn’t own special missions or currency systems. And from what I have read, Spartan Ops (which I think desperately need a name change) is far superior to CoD’s special ops.

343 is trying to do what the title of the first Halo claimed to be, and that is “Combat Evolved”.

While I can sympathize with being worried about the join in, insta-spawn, and so on; I disagree with you in the thought that scaring a developer into not doing something is terrible. A fan base should not put so much pressure on a developer that it limits their ability to stretch out and try new things. It limits the imagination and that is not what will make Halo a juggernaut again.

> > People don’t mind it evolving, but when CoD style things like Spartan points, Spartan Ops, instant respawn and other such things are integrated, people will rage for good reason. Halo has its set play-style that can be improved yet still remain Halo.

> Both Halo 3 and Reach were living breathing proof that the formula is dated in my opinion. They tried experimenting with equipment and such and due to the nature of gameplay mechanics, it never worked. Thats why they are reworking the mechanics. It’s not an overhaul however. It is simply an evolved gameplay system. Also Spartan Point = Credits from Reach. Not from CoD…

> Once again. None of you have played it so stop complaining. It’s 343’s game. If you want to same game go play Reach of Halo 3.

Halo 3’s equipment worked well within the MP. Many people have complained about Reach’s AA and wished for a return to equipment.

CoD points from Black Ops anyone? You used those to buy EVERYTHING. CR’s from Reach bought you armor, which people complained about and wished for a 1-50 style ranking system and achievement based armor.
In Halo 4 you will use Spartan points to but EVERYTHING.

I understand Halo 4 won’t be a completely different feeling game, but it needs to keep some core aspects or it will just be deemed a CoD 2.0 game.
